ParticipantThanks mp74444. You must have missed my more recent post on previous page. It seems that we may be on a single salary at some point soon and for a while, so we are not buying yet for another year and it seems we have to reduce our price range, which is why we are considering some locations with longer commutes, but which will get us something decent in the low 400s…
We don’t mind the age that much. 1980s is perfectly fine.
Aside from that, I think those 2 are good. 2nd one I believe it is overpriced. Should be low 500s.

ParticipantTop ranked schools – perhaps high schools with high percentage of admission and finishing UC? – would be nice, but, unless we sacrifice huge in terms of space, I don’t see ourselves now buying in Scripps Ranch or Carmel Valley (which are some of the top rankes high schools). We might have a chance in PQ or RB or Poway.

ParticipantA side question to sdr – because I like Carlsbad so much – Can I find (town/twin)homes ( of at least 3 bdr and 1800 sf) in 92009 for low 400s AND low HOA+MR fees? if yes, what developments? Thanks!
