Thanks for the comments. I have nothing against UC older, in fact I’d prefer it, only the houses there are still more expensive than I’d like to pay. I am looking to buy a slightly larger house (~2000 sf) because I may have my mom move in with us at some point… Commute… yeah, you are right, life is too short to spend it in the car. I hated when I lived in RB and commuted to La Jolla. But there is no such thing as no commute at all in my case. I work in ~ La Jolla Cove, so I couldn’t buy anything very close. Even now, from UTC it takes 20-25′ to work, and I figured it’s the best I could do in terms of commute.

Earlier in the thread I said I would be ok with UC (and MM), schools are quite good, just too expensive for what we want, for now. Age is not a factor. In UC there was no SFR >1800 sf under 550K (which is our max).

2. In order to get from Miramar to Via Rancho Pkwy exit in 10′ you have to drive 75-80 mph. That’s at least 13 miles in 10′. That’s why I assume you are using the commuter lanes, true?

Wow, that’s quick. How do you get to I-15 from UTC? I used to live around there – the West Bernardo/Pomerado exit, I was going 5 to 56 to 15 from UCSD, and it was at least twice that long in the evening . But that was 4 years ago.

Wow, that’s quick. How do you get to I-15 from UTC? I used to live around there – the West Bernardo/Pomerado exit, I was going 5 to 56 to 15 from UCSD, and it was at least twice that long in the evening . But that was 4 years ago.
