Participanthere’s a concrete example of “judeochristian” alliance; it’s a case about a war memorial with crosses and a star of david in lake elsinore, riv. cty.
but come on, the thing has jewish stars on it! it’s practically a jewish monument! im not saying the memorial is a good or bad idea, or even that it’s constitutional, all im saying is that freaking riverside county residents are putting jewish stars on a memorial to soldiers! it’s actually amazing! this is a good time to be jewish, a golden age, if you will…

New app, released in honor of Constitution Day, has the document and the case law

By Debra Cassens WeissThe Constitution Annotated runs 2,860 pages, weighs 10 pounds and costs $290.
But the document is now available for free in an app released on Tuesday in honor of Constitution Day, the Washington Post reports. The app, available from iTunes for iPhones and iPads, includes case law and analysis. An Android version is also being developed.
The app was released by the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, the Library of Congress, and the Government Printing Office, according to a news release.
Ken Thomas, editor-in-chief of the Constitution Annotated, told the Post that the digital format allows for more frequent updates. “Before, we updated it every two years, and now we can do it more as cases are decided,” he said.

Participantsdrealtor, we’re not supposed to agree…
you know what they say, two jews, three opinions…
Two Jews, Three Opinions
by Rabbi David Zauderer
Torah from Dixie Staff WriterA new rabbi comes to a well-established congregation. Every week on the Sabbath, a fight erupts during the service.
A new rabbi comes to a well-established congregation. Every week on the Sabbath, a fight erupts during the service. When it comes time to recite the Shema prayer, half of the congregation stands and the other half sits. The half who stand say, “Of course we stand for the Shema. It’s the credo of Judaism. Throughout history, thousands of Jews have died with the words of the Shema on their lips.” The half who remain seated say, “No. According to the Shulchan Aruch (the code of Jewish law), if you are seated when you get to the Shema you remain seated.”
The people who are standing yell at the people who are sitting, “Stand up!” while the people who are sitting yell at the people who are standing, “Sit down!” It’s destroying the whole decorum of the service, and driving the new rabbi crazy. Finally, it’s brought to the rabbi’s attention that at a nearby home for the aged is a 98-year-old man who was a founding member of the congregation. So, in accordance with Talmudic tradition, the rabbi appoints a delegation of three, one who stands for the Shema, one who sits, and the rabbi himself, to go interview the man. They enter his room, and the man who stands for the Shema rushes over to the old man and says, “Wasn’t it the tradition in our synagogue to stand for the Shema?”
“No,” the old man answers in a weak voice. “That wasn’t the tradition.”
The other man jumps in excitedly. “Wasn’t it the tradition in our synagogue to sit for the Shema?”
“No,” the old man says. “That wasn’t the tradition.”
At this point, the rabbi cannot control himself. He cuts in angrily. “I don’t care what the tradition was! Just tell them one or the other. Do you know what goes on in services every week — the people who are standing yell at the people who are sitting, the people who are sitting yell at the people who are standing—”
“That was the tradition,” the old man says.
This is a joke, of course, but, to a great extent, it reflects the reality of Jewish life in our recent history. It’s all been said before — how Jews tend to fight with each other, especially with regard to matters religious, and how they establish one breakaway synagogue after another.

Participantwhen lawyers cross examine witnesses, the direct confrontational, accusatory approach rarely yields anything.
the humorous, sideways, occasionally goofy agreeable approach usually gets the witness to cooperate, to let their guard down, to communcate, to sometimes agree with the questioner where the direct approach just causes a complete shut down.
over the years of my experience, i have found that being agreeable, interested in others opinions, even others whose opnioins seem crazy, yields more communication, better results and occasionally some sense from the otehr that i might be a human, just liek them….
confrontation can work too, under certain cricumstances. im just saying, it’s not necessarily the only useful approach…

Participantthey may choose not to litigate.
or could be a move to maybe gain tactical adantage in future criminal proceedings against bikers for felony murder against the biker friend who was killed (i think they could be held criminally responsible for their coriders death).
also possibility of getting hit with the other side’s attorney’s fees for a truly lame lawsuit….

ParticipantWoman is the nigger of the world
Yes, she is, think about it
Woman is the nigger of the world
Think about it, do something about itWe make her paint her face and dance
If she won’t be a slave, we say that she don’t love us
If she’s real, we say she’s trying to be a man
While puttin’ her down, we pretend that she’s above usYou know, woman is the nigger of the world, yeah
If you don’t believe me, take a look at the one you’re with
Woman is the slave to the slave
Ah, yeah, if you believe me, scream about itWe make her bear and raise our children
And then we leave her flat for being a fat old mother hen
We tell her, home is the only place she should be
Then we complain that she’s too unworldly to be our friendWell, now, woman is the nigger of the world, yeah, she is
If you don’t believe me, take a look at the one you’re with
Woman is the slave to the slave
Yeah, if you believe me, you better screamWe insult her every day on TV
And wonder why she has no guts or confidence
When she’s young we kill her will to be free
This is the one that I can never remember
But you get the message anywayYou know that woman is the nigger of the world
Yes, she is, if you don’t believe me, take a look at the one you’re with
Woman is the slave to the slave
Yeah, Connely was right, we scream itWe make her paint her face and dance
We make her paint her face and dance
We make her paint her face and danceYou know, we make her paint her face and dance
Dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance
We make her paint her face and danceRead more: John Lennon – Woman Is The Nigger Of The World Lyrics | MetroLyrics

Participantmy relatives were very very sensitive to perceived racism against jews….much closer generationally to the holocaust.
they think im living in denial and another holocaust could be right around the corner in the USA.
im not saying there’s zero risk…
just that for me extreme actions against jews here right now strikes me a a very low probablyty event -
