Participant
Have friends around the same age as the OP, who are also “semi-retired,” and are trying to decide between the 4S/Del Sur area and Temecula.
Like Temecula, these Black Mountain areas have great schools, lots of open space for running and biking, sports fields, shopping, etc., etc. They also want to be accessible to San Diego without worrying about the traffic on I-15, and they want to be fairly close to the beaches, so they are evaluating cost vs. convenience.
That said, even though they are relatively young, they are also concerned about the medical facilities in Temecula. They would like to have access to Sharp, Scripps, UCSD, etc. medical, and are trying to find out what facilities are available in Temecula, without having to travel a long distance.
Does anyone know what comprehensive medical facilities are available in Temecula, so I can give them some idea of what they would have access to in the Temecula area, and if they are overcrowded?
Thanks.
ParticipantIt’s very tiring. Loose traction will make you sweat like a pig and realize you’re not in nearly as good shape as you thought.
I hate falling.
It’s difficult to never fall on even mildly challenging trails. Wherever you start go on the way easiest beginner trails. Anything past that will look super hairy to a novice.
Trend: underbiking. Using less High tech bikes on dirt and u tiling riding technique over spring technology.
There’s a lot of cool dirt roads east of Temecula and going north toward diamond lake that can let you ride dirt for hours…
Odds are you won’t like it. Anyone with a natural sense of self preservation would be scared. I was coming down a hill once in new Mexico and my bike did a 360 degree flip in the air. I landed with minimal injury but though godfuckingdammit I could a just died.

Participantyou’re gonna love temecula. ignore everyone who tells yout emecula sucks. it doesn’t suck. it’s totally cool. you have toddlers; we love toddlers. this is where any smart person shoudl bring their toddlers. there’s stuff to do, it’sclean, it’s safe, it’s a little dull, but ina good and soothing way, like the film Mr. hulot’s Holiday. it’s extremely boring, but i like to watch it every now and then… because it makes me feel good. temecula will do that for you, like a classic 50’s jacques Tati film, you’ll leave slightly tired but strangely happy.
