mr mortgage < accurate
Is it against your religion to provide details or proof to you statements? That’s about as broad and ambiguous a statement as one can make. I’d respond to it but…….how? If you are referring to some ancient obvious calls that you and most people following RE came up with as well, such as a bubble in 2005/2006 and a bust following it, then big deal, you get a cookie as do a million other diviners of the obvious. Making a call or case that the unending avalanche of delinquencies and foreclosures is a non-event or small event , now that’s a call that you can hang your cap on (it will be a pointy cap though). An even better call will be if in a year’s time we learn of many people stiffing a 2nd and living happily ever after in the home the 2nd holds title to. Or if 2nds somehow prove to be participating in a mass economic suicide, writing off debt for no reason and with no retaliation, punishment or recourse.November 20, 2009 at 3:53 PM in reply to: When does it make financial sense to just dump your house??? #485382Rt.66

ParticipantHence the “or whatever” in my statement, right. Too hard to imagine getting a listing from the forum and being the selling agent as well resulting in 6%?
Telling everyone and anyone that you are a “realtor” in “SD” is glaringly more akin to advertising than simply using your name would have been, geez, come on now.
If I wanted a realtor and looked to this board I’d surely find you quickly but any realtor using his name would be invisible to me. You are insulting our intelligence.
In our previous heated debate you were passionately disputing my data, to the point of calling me all sorts of school yard names. Your attempts to goad me into another debate is for what reason if not to resume that?
You keep dropping my name in your posts and topics, is there something else on your mind?

Participant
I dont care what you think Rt 66. My customers do not come from this website. In over 3 years posting on this site, I have been involved in two real estate transactions with pigg posters. The irony is that both were clients before we even realized who each other was. In the first case through the course of a thread we realized who each other was. I sold his house and encouraged him to rent for a year or two and then re-evaluate. After a few months renting (two horrible rentals) he had enough and wanted to find a home. We found him a great home at a great price. I hear from him often and he says its the best house he ever lived in among many.
In the 2nd case, it was a short sale referred to my by an attorney. I had the property listed and we were negotiating with the lender for about a month. One day while talking to that poster out of nowhere he/she asked if I was sdrealtor on piggington. He/she figured it out based upon our conversations and I never would have even known they were a piggington regular.
I have provided information and guidance to hundreds of pigg posters over the years and have never solicited a single person.
I read the same things you do but I also read the other side. I sit in the middle and combine all I read with what I see. I am here for balance. When i came here there was none and I worked hard to make this a more balanced and beneficial place. Over time it has become more balanced but we still obviously have our lunatic fringe.
You are obviously a smart guy so I know you know that putting your name out there day in day out could pay dividends for years to come.
This is a social RE forum and yet you (who claim you are not here fishing) sign-up with a user name of SDRealtor? Not hard to miss the implications there.
Why do we not see others skirting advertising etiquette and picking user names like:
BobTheCheapElectrician
DansHouseOfCarpet
HomeInspectorMike
Why not? Because it’s shameless and everyone sees it for what it is, advertising your job/services on a social forum. Too tacky for most.
Maybe what you say is true but your chosen user name gives me doubts and the fact that just 1 customer gleaned from this forum could easily net you $30k or whatever throws further doubt on the motive behind your efforts to discredit the negative data flooding our senses every day.
