Participant
Do you guys ever get tired of the constant gloom and doom talk? I don’t come here as much as I used to because it’s so depressing. Maybe ignorance is bliss but you guys really go overboard. Enjoy life!
Maybe the thread “Waiting for Bottom in Escrow” http://piggington.com/waiting_for_bottom_in_escrow can tell us why posts negative to RE would be percieved as doom and gloom to someone “waiting for bottom”?
News flash; most actual news of the RE market is going to be doom and gllom for some time to come (except for NAR pumping). So you may need to find a “Knife Catchers” forum if you are looking for comforting threads on why your recent purchase will not result in a huge loss.

http://www.sdlookup.com/MLS-080043783-21…This is a very nice house – just not at 15% above 2003 prices and when there are 4 other houses on the same street selling for 150-200K less.
What are some people thinking?????” http://piggington.com/kinfe_catchers_still_out_there_rancho_dorado
Now maybe some are wondering what you were thinking and the shoe finds itself on the other foot?
Pooh-poohing good read articles like Arraya posted is not going to make the bad news go away.

ParticipantAnyone else notice that the minute another bear thread comes up certain people jump on it like stink and try a de-legitimize it?
You’ll notice that the first reply is from the pit bull aggressive name flinging realtor with a reply that reads like “oh that’s stupid”.
How many people will that chase off from contributing? It’s not worth getting into a debate with someone so venomous who enjoys the protection or fear of the forum at large. So we all may lose a meaningful thread as it withers away.
Look at the heavy heat brought in the first stages of life for “The Ongoing Case-Shiller Fallacy/Shadow Inventory” thread. Look at “Question for the bulls” thread. Does their spine tingle when a bear thread hits the forum?
I applaud the few standouts who buck the trend, but this board is in danger of losing its way.
I think Arizona is a good place to use when considering the direction of CA markets. There are only a few other states I would consider living in and AZ is one. AZ has enjoyed years of swelling population (someone else must like it) and it’s a dream compared to colder, wet areas of the country.
Comparing the high end market of any of the warm weather retirement states to us, is a good comparison. Nothing tops SD but there are other desirable areas. And it’s those we should logically look to for comparison.
