Brian,
First off, I did not “TELL” him to move his truck. I asked him quite politely if he was planning on moving it. (It had been there 3 days, 24/7). He was rude and obnoxious, which was completely uncalled for. That is when I got pissed. If he had been nice, perhaps some sob story or something, we may have been able to work something out. Brian, perhaps, you are the one with the truck?

Prior to this, about 2 weeks ago, one of the condo owners came out and there was all this screaming and breaking glass. I thought it was domestic violence, but apparently not. She was screaming at him to move his truck. Some of the people in the other complex gave him the business too.

Furthermore, he has a regular SUV which has a super loud exhaust (do you add those to cars?) and his GF’s car alarm goes off 1-2X a day, usually at 2AM or so when a cat sits on it. These people are not making any friends. So, folks can deal with that, but he really took it to the test when he parks an unpermitted vehicle looming over peoples living spaces.

As CA Renter noted, my house is about 15′ from the curb, so when a 10 ft high by 20 ft wide truck parks in front, it does make it so one cannot see. My ceilings are at 8 ft high.

And, Cricket, yes parking is a bit difficult. It is residential neighborhood with some condos and SFRs. The condos only get one parking space, and the owners usually have 2 or more to the condo, so this puts a stress on parking.

Honestly, I did not expect such nasty responses on this site. I didn’t realize parking and illegal trucks would create a controversy. Thought that was mostly limited to politics. My apologies and thanks to all of you for your tips and advice.

Probably it is pretty close. A Captain is an O-6. An O-6 with 16 years of service, makes approximately $8K a month in basic pay. Add other allowances, such as housing, add another $2500 per month. Plus, there is additional pay for sea duty, hazardous pay, special pay, etc.
