CV? I thought we were taking about Chula Vista? As a Realtor, I think I can find you a nice 3 bedroom 2 ba under $300,000 with a beautiful night view of the twinkling lights in Tijuana and easy beach access to the discharge/runoff areas along the coast. Any takers? Porkman

PorkmanDelardoParticipantI say ignore the pundits and walk away like all the other yahoos. What’s done is done. and you are well done, my friend. Burnt toast.
I post foreclosure notices all over the county. I will keep my eyes open for your notice and post with a sad thought in mind for you. I am not totally without empathy. Don’t shoot the messenger. However, I am a realist. You can survive a foreclosure and the bad credit that goes with it. Soon enough you will be able to jump back into the market, when prices are more reasonable and more experience under your belt. I feel your pain. Don’t prolong the agony. PorkmanPorkmanDelardoParticipantI too had to do a double take when I read this article in the crappy UT this morning. If I can afford $6,100 a month to rent out an over-priced condo, why would I cover someone else’s mortgage payment? I would go out and make payments on my own place, and get the tax deduction to boot. This guy Mike Railey is a class A moron. Please, please someone track this guys progress and let us know when foreclosure proceedings start on either his crown jewel condo or his modest hovel in Del Mar. Porkman

PorkmanDelardoParticipantBuy a condo at the Hard Rock and as an owner you are limited to 24 days of usage per year. or one weekend per month. when available. Better off buying 4 red weeks in a timeshare and using the weeks anytime you want and anywhere around the world. I think 12 weekends a year in the Gaslamp will get old after a while. The first phase sell-out was for the cachet of saying I own a piece of the Hard Rock. Albeit, a very small piece…….. for 1/2 million $. No thanks. Porkman

PorkmanDelardoParticipantGo to J & W Redwood with your measurements. they will spec out all the wood and hardware you will need based on your measurements. This is an easy do-it yourself project and will cost you only for materials. If you hire someone, just double the materials cost and you will have a ballpark figure. I estimate materials at $2000. So your total cost is around $4-5K.
I used Redwood to build 3 10X12 patio covers and they came out great. I also stained instead of painted. It cost me $1,500. However, this was in 2001 and i am sure the price of wood has gone up considerably. If I had to do it over again, I would seriously consider some of the new composites like TREX. Supposedly lasts forever. with little maintainance. The good looking ones are usually perplexed that they could not make the deal? Poor babies. Porkman
