Yeah, John Williams is awesome, and Shadow Stats rules. Been following it for years. Really makes it obvious why the job market feels like the Great Depression – because it is!!

I have befriended a plumber after several large remodeling projects, and something like this, he would charge me $50-75 including the wax ring. It would probably take him less than an hour, in and out. He’ll stop by on a weekday while I’m at work, and my wife will let him in.
If I did it myself, it would be most of a Saturday, and I might save $25-50, but my Saturday is now toast. I have a LONG list of other/better things to do than fix a toilet on a weekend. And I can make up the $25-50 by buying cheaper beer/wine for a week or so.

Along with the decimation of the middle class, we’ve seen the decimation of middle class neighborhoods, so that today’s families have to choose between gang-infested barrios, or insanely-priced, “fancy” neighborhoods where all the white and Asian families are fleeing to in order to escape the gang ‘hoods. It’s like people have been left with no real options: they either subject their children to the gangs at school and in their neighborhoods, or they have to pay the piper to get them into schools with “Buffy” and “Skip” so they can feel safe and get a decent education. There is no more “middle” left in our society, and this speaks to the root of our problems, and the problems of the world, right now, IMHO.[/quote]+1
And there are plenty of stats to back this up.
CAR, when are you running for office? π

permabearParticipantI agree. 1900 sq ft on the corner of a MAJOR road?
Sorry, that seems like a ripoff, unless somebody just HAS to live in CV for some reason.
