I do know this: if green energy were economically viable on a large scale (or really any scale), that’s what would be powering my house and car instead of gas and oil.
Alternative energy will not make a serious dent in our oil, coal or gas consumption in my lifetime or anyone else’s on this board.
Most electricity in this country is still generated by coal – and we have plenty left right here in the USA.
FYI: I am not a republican, just someone with “common sense.”

Albert EinsteinI do know this if This country billed the Oil Companies
for the cost of all those carrier groups in the middle east,
we’d be paying 5 dollars a gallon for gas. Also while we have a lot of coal, what is the cost to our
society if we strip mine all of west virginia flat to get it.March 2, 2009 at 10:24 PM in reply to: Dr. Doom Roubini is scared – economy worse than predicted #359300patb

patb – My understanding is that my contract with the LL is independent of their ability to pay the mortgage. Until they are no longer the owners, I am liable and can be sued for non payment, court costs, etc. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Additionally, how does one go about doing the escrow option?
Dude
A man being sued into foreclosure has no ability to Sue you.
he isn’t paying the mortgage, you don’t pay the rent, think of it
as the coprophagic circle of life.when he fucks you out of your deposit, what are you going to
do? sue a bankrupt loser who just lost his house?and an escrow?
just call your bank tell them you want to set up an escrowpatb

Participant
I would tell the IRS to pack sand. If you want people to keep their money in the US, stop taxing interest income. I’m sure people would spend their untaxed interest income, thus helping businesses.

Better.
Let the first 25K in Interest/Dividend income be untaxed,
then let the rest be taxed at regular income rates. That will encourage people to have a certain amount of
savings generating income, but, will tax those above the median.patb
