ParticipantIt was just political theatre starring Obama and Bohner.
O is the hero.
Republicans = Biggest Losers.
Maybe 5 years from now well look back and say they were right. I doubt it.
Cruz = Loser, not impressive at all.
The republicans in california do little more than consume space and air, now it applies to the entire country.
Hopefully the tea party will get back to their roots and leave those loser republicans far behind.

ParticipantWow, seems Filner really got off easy – Joe SixPack would already be in solitary.

You need some specialty tool for a german car, you can ping me first, since I might have it….
Thanks flu: ever seen that P1777 code – seems related to the transmission. BTW, even though I replaced the battery I never had it “programmed”.

Participant@flu/other mechanics: I’m getting a P0597 Thermostat/Heater Control circuit is open.
Also a P1777 Ignition Retard Request Circuit Fault
Mean anything to you? I really appreciate your help/advice.
Looks like the tstat is shot – that’s 200 bucks, but I can’t even see where it is.

Part of the problem is I can’t even get my floor jack underneath the car.
Not to mention those dang covers.
Last week I replaced an EGR system on a 4.6 litre Ford – no problem.
As a comparison, my BMW doesn’t seem owner serviceable at all.
Damn…this is going to hurt, I can feel it already.

ParticipantI know this doesn’t answer the question directly, but in reality there is no where to hide.
Well, maybe silver/gold – but that would take some advance planning.

A lot of buyers yearn so much for a luxury car that they often bite off more than they can chew.
I guess I have to admit I can’t afford to own it. Do I have the money to get it fixed? Yes
Would I rather use that same money in other ways? Most definitely…
Translation: I can’t afford a BMW.
I never yearned for a luxury car or even a status car – I just thought I was getting a great deal.
I remember bragging: I got a BMW for the price of a Corolla!

ParticipantAs this slideshow demonstrates, the federal govt is involved in a lot of things they shouldn’t be.
This is what happens when govt no longer serves citizens:

Participant
German cars are not as reliable as their reputation suggests.
Indeed, among the cars owned by its policy holders, the only engines to have failed more than Audis were those from the now defunct MG Group. In total 1 in 13 of MG Rover motors failed in the past year, and problems presented themselves in 1 in every 27 Audi engines. Mini was the third least reliable with a failure rate of 1 in 40, while BMW finished seventh (1 in 45) and Volkswagen ninth (1 in 52).
The most reliable engines came from Honda, with a failure rate of just 1 in 344, with Toyota in second (1 in 171) and, maintaining some honour for the German brands, Mercedes in third (1 in 119).

This article doesn’t mention it directly, but many would consider the BMW I-6 one of the greatest 6 cylinders ever made.
