Participant“Your underlying point, which is false, is that a dog with a muscular appearance, wide head and shoulders, etc., is born programmed to attack humans and other animals, unprovoked, out of a ‘drive’ for blood. ”
I’m trying to find out where I said or implied that.
Come to think of it, Where did I mention this too about temperament:“What you describe of a pointer, ‘pointing’, is instinct, which is genetic so you are correct in thinking it is a part of temperament, but not temperament as a whole”
“This perceived problem, pit bulls as whole, is not a public safety issue, it is impossible to correct”
It’s simple actually-just keep your dog under control when you are near my kids- if you can’t…
In your other post you said :“Canines inflicting damage upon humans and fellow canines, is an insolvable event as whole”
You are wrong- it is solvable, its just that some folks won’t like the methods

Participant“No human or canine is born to kill. No human or canine is bred to kill. The idea a ‘pit bull’ is alien to such concrete evidence and data, is absurd”
Huh? What data? If canines weren’t born to kill, I wonder how they managed to survive all those years before humans domesticated them because they are, after all, carnivores.
“Breeding for a predisposition does not guarantee behavior, i.e. a male and female human are tenacious business people, so they breed to pop out offspring who run fortune 500 companies.”
How does this relate to dogs? Ever watch a pointing dog work? Now try THAT with a rottweiler!
Btw, welcome to the Piggington board : )
