Yep $100K is the approximate amount I got via email from the Dolinka Group. Got the same letter to provide my info and pay $100 bucks to get the exact amount for the MR payoff…I agree the $100K payoff is really high compared to the other payoff amounts I am seeing here. No transparency to all of this is disturbing, which is why I came here checking around to compare the numbers and to find out if there’s a watchdog group tracking all of this… apparently not…. is there a possibility the Dolinka Group could be just throwing this number out so people wouldn’t be interested in a high $100K MR payoff to protect their special interests…?? Maybe need to rally community support to demand transparency. Think about what this could do to the bond markets…
sorry guy, Dolinka was very straight up with us. the estimate and the actual numbers were identical. why would Dolinka purposely throw out a high number for Del Sur but not 4S/Santaluz/PQ/Stonebridge?
Del Sur MR have always been several steps higher than everyone elses. I think the $100k reflects reality, I’m afraid.
This is just like the latest jobs numbers. if the data that comes out is not your liking, it must have been a conspiracy by the power-to-be.
ocrenterParticipant
AN,
This is what we subject our daughters to when we focus on appearance rather than health. I don’t like the word “fat” because it’s understood to refer to one’s appearance, not one’s level of fitness. If we’re concerned about health trends, we should use the terms “fit” or “unfit” instead.
Of course you bring up the extreme examples. Trust me, AN can produce some real extremes on the other end in a heart beat.
The medical community has drawn the line on obesity at BMI of 30 for Caucasians, BMI of 33 for blacks, and BMI of 27 for Asians. If you are above these numbers, statistically speaking you will eventually lose the war against metabolic syndrome, period. Appearance or otherwise.

Carpet in the bathroom is a recipe for mold.
X2
The landlord should get rid of the carpet in the bathroom and install vinyl or tile flooring.
x3, carpet in the bathroom makes no sense whatsoever. I suggest a $500 fine and mandatory landlord school.
is this another Mira Mesa specific problem like the infamous lack of interior wall issue we have heard so much about?

Perhaps one that bans any sort of automated law enforcement system to also include speed cameras.

I personally find myself slamming on the break when approaching yellow, flooring the gas in the middle of the intersection, and slowing down on approach because the green seem to be overdue for a change to red. one second too late and you are looking at a $500 bill.
ocrenterParticipant
Great discussion going here. With the funny PUSD bond business going on, is there a website or watchdog group I can follow and get more info? With the interest rates projected to drop further, I am wondering if there are plans for a CFD 14 and 14A bond refi in the near future? Would a refi reduce the amount for the total MR payoff?
My MR is approx $5700/yr and the total payoff is approx $100K ($50K each bond) for a $540K house on a 4000 sqft lot newly built in 2011 (info from SD Tax collector – havent paid the fee to get the actual amount for MR payoff). This seems high for a MR payoff compared to the other numbers I am seeing here….but may make sense since I am the first homeowner of this house. i would like to hear from other homeowners in my area how their MR payoff numbers compare. Thanks!
wow, that’s extremely high, so far seem like PQ, Stonebridge, and southside 4S are all around $50-60k. $100k is quite extreme…
ocrenterParticipant
Fixing over eating is easy. Just tax food at an extreme level where people can only afford to buy a little bit of food. Obesity is a first world problem. The solution is to get people to eat like a third world person. You can’t really get them to do it voluntarily, so force them to do it. Kind of like what we are doing with cigarettes.
+1
if you think about it, the food industry is following the same playbook as the tobacco industry of the past. Government just need to dust off the same playbook as well.
we already have the same analogous pictures in front of congress. Tobacco industry sitting with a straight face stating that tobacco is not addictive. And food industry sitting with a straight face stating potato is a vegetable.

PS – Despite their shared disdain for adipose tissue, Brutus and Brian sure seem like different people to me.
I totally agree with that. Brian seemed calm and measured. Brutus the opposite. Brian thoughtful if misguided (in my always-possibly-wrong opinion), and couldn’t resist a threadjack. Brutus a foaming-at-the-mouth pitbull with a fat little doll in its mouth that it wouldn’t (possibly couldn’t) let go.
I was looking at it as Brian simply playing Brutus as a caricature of a prototypical right wing nut job. Given his distaste of anyone on the political right, I can totally see him casting Brutus in such foaming-at-mouth way.

Driving is actually a privilege or hadn’t you heard?
I think $500 is getting off easy for running a red light. People get killed that way.
the red just came on as she slowed but not stopped for the right turn. it was perfectly safe.
this is just a way for the city to make money.
like I said, would have just paid it if it was lower.
September 29, 2012 at 1:40 PM in reply to: OT: red light camera ticket for right turn and 0.1 secs #752048ocrenterParticipantwife got a citation in Poway for the same right turn on red. total including traffic school would have been $535.
went with Mr Ticket for $100, they took care of everything and the ticket just got dismissed.
seriously, had city of Poway not been so greedy, we would have probably just paid for the tix + traffic school.
another STRONG recommendation for Mr. Ticket!
ocrenterParticipant

Spoken like a fatty. Fat fat fatty fat. You are fat.
Oh yeah? And in which issue of Playboy can we expect to see some lard-ass fat girl (with rolls of fat) posing nude for the drooling eyes of horny men everywhere?
Sure, there’s a few guys that like fat women, but they are a VERY small minority.
That’s because fat is not beautiful. Or healthy.
Time to ban this loser, Rich.
For the record, Brutus, my body fat is 10.5%. Partly due to good genes and partly due to very strenuous exercise. The difference between us here is the same as it was on the topic of poor people. I understand what other people are going through and you are an angry, intolerant, ignorant, self-aggrandizing fool.
Brian/Brutus are now on my ignore list.
ocrenterParticipantagree with most everything downtowner said.
however, you do not need Hulu+ to get the Daily Show or a large amount of regular TV.
We went to just cable modem few years ago as well. just like downtowner, we use the PC windows media center to record shows. for the media extender, we purchased couple of used xbox 360 at cowboom.
if you download PlayOn on your computer, you can use xbox to watch Hulu and a bunch of shows.
we are not avid TV watchers, averaging 1-2 hour per day, so the free hulu content is already quite overwhelming. for serious TV viewers, perhaps it is worth the cost of hulu+.
like downtowner mentioned, PC with a tuner remain the best option. we got Roku for cheap to try and it was a piece of junk.

That’s because they are constantly in the doctor’s office, soaking up healthcare at the expense of the rest of us.
And sure, they’re fine until their first heart attack or bout of diabetes, or when their knees give out and they need replacements.
Fat is ugly. Fat is unhealthy. Being fat is not good, therefore, it is bad, especially when it drives up healthcare costs, which it DOES.
If ObamaCare is implemented, I am going to become an advocate for the “Fat Police.” When healthcare becomes universal, YOUR health becomes MY business.
And I don’t like it when fat people eat cheeseburgers and other fatty foods. Being fat is a drain on the healthcare system as much as smoking or participating in extreme sports.
Brian? Is that you? Seriously – you’re as obnoxious as him.
You changed political stripes – but other than that – your as judgmental as the old Brian. I’m becoming convinced you’re the same guy… with the same pet issues.
that’s a new low, even for Brian…
