Participant
I think that the high MR still deters many buyers from buying at Stonebridge. The MR adds at least another $150k to the home prices and for that price you can buy a much nicer home in Poway.
I just did the calculation, the MR actually adds $100k to the price. Would be nice to see a recent closed sale that is much nicer in Poway for 100k over a comparable Stonebridge home.

If you convert your pool to salt water, you’ll spend around $1000-1100 up front, but then you’ll spend about $.30-40/day in electricity cost creating chlorine from the salt. So, it’s probably break even with buying bleach.
Before, I used to spend 5 mins minimum DAILY checking the pool chemistry, pouring in bleach, and hoping that algae doesn’t grow. If I missed a day or two, then algae would come back with a vengeance, and I’d spend a couple hours fixing my mistake.
Now, I go out there every two weeks for 10 minutes, check chemistry and make sure my chlorine levels are good. I might have to brush off a little bit of algae from time to time, but if you keep your chlorine levels up, you won’t have to worry about phosphates and algaecide, etc. That is just a money maker anyways.
So, do you wanna spend 20 minutes a month caring for your pool, or 3+ hours a month caring for your pool?
I haven’t regretted my salt water generator one bit since I bought it.
love my salt generator and pool cover. quite frankly, would not have even gotten the pool if not for these two options.

this is so true. I continue to be absolutely floored watching zillow and seeing folks paying $900k to $1 mil for the cheap monstrosities known as Montoro, or the very pedestrian Serenity. yet at the same time 3-4 other folks were able to walk into the Tiburon sales office and score true luxury class homes for the same $1 mil.

Participant

paying student loans before credit cards sounds dumb
You can default on your credit cards. You cannot default on your student loans.
I’d say it’s sound advice.
again, I suppose ultimately who is the target audience?
I don’t think this would apply to any piggs. as I don’t think any piggs will be in a position in trying to decide whether to default on credit card vs student loan. but then again, I doubt any piggs have credit card debts…
