ParticipantEx-girlfriend? I guess that makes the real question; How much baggage does Kev have to work through before he can be in a healthy relationship, and especially not attract and spend several years with women who are beneath him?

ParticipantI am just throwing stuff out there, not going to take this thread too seriously, or try too hard, Kev can sift through whatever is said.

ParticipantProbably would not accept much more or less baggage than I bring, on the whole. That said, calculating it too much is kind of jerkish IMO. If it’s there with the two of you for the most part forgive and move on.
To be honest though, if that debt was from fake boobs and stuff like that I would move on. If it was from bad luck, maybe some school debt and the person just wasn’t the greatest saver, I would probably work with her.
Don’t hold her family against her, that’s BS. IF she is good it won’t determine your quality of life unless you decide to get hung up about it over and over. You can set limits on her family. Besides, your family is probably just as screwed up but in different ways.
Don’t get involved further if you have some kind of superiority trip ypu have to hold over her.

ParticipantThanks for your explanation, B.
I do all my check-ups good reminder though.I am not out there trolling for women since I am married, but it is fun to see these little crushes and flirting at you….that you can get close enough to chat with them and enjoy their company in regular social ways, chat about things. I don’t know if that would happen as much if I were bald or not? I am sure it’s attitude more than anything. I go with the assumption that mostly women are not physically objectifying men as much as men do them….so it’s easy to get close to them if you want to…until they find out you are creepy or broke.

Ok, I do take propecia for my thinning hair. It works! It would suck to go bald. I believe vanity is a sin that could send me straight to hell… but oh, well…[/quote]
From what I can see, the only side effect of Propecia that they list is a decrease in sex drive. Maybe that’s a road sign on the road to hell?
http://www.rxlist.com/propecia-side-effects-drug-center.htm%5B/quote%5DDid you read a few paragraphs down on that page. There are a lot more warnings and a notice that this may not be the complete list of side effects.
Even though warnings are not actually side effects( maybe it takes time) , injesting anything that comes with those kinds or warnings isn’t going to happen for the sake of my hair, it’s pretty darn serious in my mind.

ParticipantSince my conversion is so recent I am wondering , ” what does a Pantheist Rastafarian do on a Sunday morning?”

ParticipantNot sure I follow all this but if the fence makes any sense do it. if the irrigation is on your side of the fence just dig in there and cap it off for now. If their irrigation is crazy and they don’t adjust for your new fence the fence is going to get damaged or wear out form all the water, so keep that in mind with the fence.
I think they just took the plumeria down to say that if the can’t have it no one can. You probably have a chance to get through this with out major trouble if you are patient and take it in small steps.
Sorry if I am off on some things. I want to be helpful and have a similar struggle going on but don’t want to read the whole thread.

ParticipantI think this neighbor will settle down. We haven’t talked since i complained to him, but I have spoken with his wife and my wife has spoken with his wife. We all want to be friends, keep our kid’s friendships going , and respect each other’s feelings and concerns. I hope those sentiments continue and rule the days ahead. The way it should be.

ParticipantFollow , or at least navigate towards your bliss , if it makes money, good, if it doesn’t, make the adjustments you have to to live within your means in a way that is responsible to your conscience. Do this with skilled foresight as much as possible, so that hindsight doesn’t bite you in the ass. That’s it.
Do your fair share. A lot of people don’t come from places or have personal blessings that make achieving the american dream as easy as falling off a bicycle, I see and have seen a lot of people in life who could do better for themselves, their families and their communities, if they were only willing to take the attitude of doing their fair share. It helps if families would embrace that attitude for the other members too…less of those suicides from the well to do class and less of other social ills across all class lines.

ParticipantThanks, CA renter,
I am not going to serious battle over this . I have in one occasion tried to get a neighbor to consider other people’s feelings about his behavior, he thinks it’s unreasonable to worry about it and doesn’t even respect that or the 150 yard rule. I didn’t call the Sheriff or anything. He’s pretty bent out of shape about it and claims he is going to do whatever he wants. Not cool since he has asked me to change something and I have gotten right on it and would again. Anyway that will pass, but we probably won’t have a very good relationship. Oh well, it could be worse…there are some people you wouldn’t even approach. Fortunately ,for my family at least , the other shooters are a few properties away and shoot into a hill with no houses or roads on it.Other people will have to deal with their own neighbors on the shooting. Still , I hope the reminders to the politicians and law enforcement help maintain or improve and awareness level. That could possibly do some good.

ParticipantI am not really down on weightlifting or experimenting on a some fountain of youth lifestyle. Funny how it is as possible and even easy to make anything look kind of foolish or even kind of “sinful” as it is to make them look like they are superior things. I guess that is because life is absurd in the first place.

Things are pretty much the same as when I made the same inquiry in 2006. Shooting is against the law near the coasts, restricted as you go out and with some exceptions limited only to what shooters think is safe further out. It is in the PDF’s. The 150 yard distance from structures is a universal minimum as I understand it….many shooters think much less is safe and they get away with it.
The Sheriff’s office said that in 2009 they tried to increase the distance required from structures beyond the 150 yards but failed. I don’t know how that attempt was made or how it failed. I will look into that. I don’t recall a public vote for it.
I do know that you can make a logical math based claim for why a specific property should be condemned for shooting based on the 150 yard rule and that person will not be told by the sheriff to stop recreational non-defense shooting in my area.
Shooting is not supposed to happen in periods of high fire danger, so that could be leverage. Still, I don’t think either standard is going to be enforced based on some complaints about specific acts of shooting that I know about and no change in the frequency of shooting. Of course it would be very controversial to report a neighbor but especially when you personally have to make a big stink to to get action. The charge is probably a misdemeanor anyway, but I am not sure.
I have written back asking the Sheriff to consider places on private property other than structures to be included in the 150 yards, for example kid’s play areas, gardens, easements and driveways. I don’t want to enforce it or call the cops for what are probably considered unworthy infractions , non-emergencies, but I want to remind them of what is going on around here….how it hits home. While the east county is a huge area and sparsely populated there are pockets that are basically suburban within it and there will be more. I also asked them to consider a public awareness and safety campaign annually through the small media outlets that cater to rural parts of the county. I ask for more signage. Anything stating the 150 yard law would be better than what we have, which is nothing. Those request have been referred to branches of the department that handle those kinds of things.

ParticipantThe smart weak nerds survived too….all kinds of things survived..the cosmic plan is for you to be you or something more sinister. Yeah, you could still be squished to smithereens in a second either way. Look at Obama, what a nerdy girly man, has control of the largest military in the world and personal body guards too. I mean , as long as he backs off on Syria, which he did.
