What exactly is the definition of “your level” though… is it money, looks, education, something else? This is highly subjective depending on what exactly what each individual values the most in life.
Sum total = same level, that’s the point . All the other things are just single points …not so relevant on their own , good for ego trips but they don’t build very good cases against water seeks it’s own level.
Just move on , don’t make a case against your prior girlfriend especially to other women. I personally could care less what most “Facebook friends “really think…that seem rather immature to worry about it.
Your friends don’t care what the hell happened between you and this woman and your enemies won’t believe you.NotCranky

Participant

In a marriage system like our, mostly choice based, I think the issue of marrying up or down is very rare. There may be more money or apparent class issues, better looks on one side, better social skills or an imbalance of any other factor but in the end water seeks on level even when many characteristics of f the two confluent streams are different. I can think of so many cases where these issues can be seen from the outside , but if you get closer ,think about it, you understand where the balance comes in.
There are better and worse matches in marriage, but the individuals aren’t much better or worse one form the other.
I’m pretty sure my wife would say you’re nuts and I scored.
I would say your wife would be wrong. So is her family.NotCranky

ParticipantAre blogs social media? What is to stop this lady from coming on here and telling her side of the story? Of course, it depends on how personalized your posts are.

ParticipantMissouri was the only swing state Obama lost and he lost in 2012.
I see slimy, jaded, cynical, dirty, politics, making for status quo.No comment on the Pope. You have proclaimed yourself to be an “ends justifies the means type” when it comes to your side of anything…I think that’s cynical, not up to your intelligence, and desperate too. Impossible to argue with.
So now that the grand jury has extended until Jan 2015 What does that mean….
I think Holder knows he has nothing. Not sure, it’s looking that way.
Is that why you backed off wanting to lynch the cop?NotCranky
ParticipantBg, the demographics shifts that you speak off in Ferguson sort of defends the poor racial representation on the police force as might other things.
25 years ago 1-4 black to white, now 2 out of 3, so that’s fairly rapid as you say. Ferguson would probably have to fire decent cops perhaps break the law to keep up….or set quotas for giving all new openings to black people no matter who applied. For all we know few qualified black people applied for what was available and quotas with lower standards could be dangerous. What happened to the amazing african american candidates for the ferguson police force who didn’t get work. What is the history there if any? There must be cases of complaints against a shutout if it existed?
Elected positions come down to the electorate…hard to play the race card there….apathy card maybe.

Participant
You’re jaded because you don’t believe anyone can make a difference, which justifies the old order, a status quo that disgusts you.
Jobs don’t fall out of sky. There has to be training programs and most importantly appropriations by Congress. Obama proposed a jobs program.
It was fake. I don’t believe anyone wants to make a difference…yet. Unless a poor black guy gets shot in a purple state that humiliated Obama 2012.NotCranky

Good comments in the comment section.
Obama is getting the “OJ Simpson” effect from the black population and other dems. When he is no longer in office, it’s probably going to get bad with all these poor lives made even lower on his watch.
It’s interesting that Obama promised “shovel ready jobs” ….very impactful on the minds of unskilled workers, I would think, in it’s promise that there might be jobs they are qualified for. Good thing he didn’t say college grad ready jobs, either way fulfillment is low.
That’s just a jaded, cynical view of life.
But anyway, what does it have to do with Ferguson?
Just because you don’t like the way society is as a whole doesn’t mean that some people aren’t doing meaningful things.
Your same logic could apply to the Pope.
Who is jaded me or the person who showed how badly off the poor are since shovel ready jobs? You don’t doubt Obama has a Halo effect and sending Holder and 50 DOJ personnel to Ferguson is about maintaining that? It has to do with Ferguson because there are a lot of shovel ready types there saying it is going to get worse if they can’t get work. Not if the police force doesn’t change …but if they can’t get work. I am pretty much betting they don’t get work.

ParticipantMaybe the reference was for those “shovel ready” jobs for the secret service to put in the garden beds at the capitol?
