ParticipantNeetaT,
I hear you. IMO, one way or another RE ends up being worth some percentage less than it was at the peak, relative to our economy overall, regardless of what happens to prices which I think will go down nominally. By participating in the collective experience here on Piggington’s, I will know what happened and where the market is and have info on a bunch of other interesting related topics. I certainly don’t fault you for lacking motivation to hash it out on a daily basis. I definitely want to see how the resets and other issues play out as reported here.

ParticipantExcerpted from Scruffy’s posted link…. much of the nation — and the region — suffers through a real estate slump… home sales in Los Angeles County fell 19.1% through May, according to research firm DataQuick Information Systems.
I think we had better keep the site up and running in case that slump comes to San Diego county ;).
Goodbye Scruffy,

ParticipantDrunkle:
None of the DOM info or relist info constitutes required disclosures drunkle. If you feel it is important to your goals and you are working with an agent they will certainly tell you.I think DOM are pertinent for low ball strategies. Long Dom is a red flag too. It could be possible that the house was rejected by previous buyers, so you would want to know if it had fallen out of escrow a couple of times and if so why. If it had fallen out of escrow because of material defects or title issues or anything like that those items all would neccesitate disclosure. Excessive DOM could just mean that the thing is overpriced.
What are your reasons for wanting to know DOM and relist info? I am just curious.

ParticipantI think this is a PR blunder. However, comps are more important than days on market IMO. You want the best deal not the house that hasn’t sold for the longest period of time. Not that I haven’t tried used days on market as leverage in buying. Everyone should still be able to try that.

ParticipantMy impression is that it is O.K. to talk about what the Fed does but it is not a good idea to be derogatory about what it might be if that means that it is a nefarious cartel. Not on this blog, unless you want to get flamed for being a conspiracy theory nut case.

ParticipantBaseball guy, You are such a holy terror I think you should be banned retro-actively! Just kidding! You seem like a real nice/good man and I look forward to disagreeing with you all the while keeping Rich’s new guidelines in effect.
How is that for intolerance?
4runner I like you too, and owe you a response, but I won’t post on that thread we have been using.

ParticipantGood call Rich. I admit to being one of the worst offenders. It did bother me that a few of us were interfering with the flow of housing topic threads. The organizational guidelines for post are great. I am sure we will all be glad that my contributions as real estate bear and reformer of American society, especially jg, will be separate.
Thanks for all you have done for us Piggingtonians.
