ParticipantHello Cy, Good to see you come around!

ParticipantCan’t really defend my brain cells, none the less, the best years are the ones to come.
I really had a neighbor who told me he quit smoking and drinking while he held a beer in one hand and a marlboro the other..Seriously. The scary part was the guy had an armory the size of a side by side fridge. He had to move to Arizona because of the gun laws changing here a few years ago. I sold his house for him. Thought he was going to kill me everytime escrow got him stressed out.
I guess that kinda relates to this thread because if a guy can think he doesen’t smoke and drink while he is, another guy could think his house is going up when it isn’t.

ParticipantAllan,
I wish I could say that brings back good memories! I would rather lose my house than do that to my CNS.NotCranky

ParticipantMaybe your friend meant he was going to try to appreciate his house indefinitely? KOOL-Aid is known to affect speech.

ParticipantI have seen much better programs. Specifically silent seconds, where no payment is due on the second and it expires after a set number of years. Haven’t looked into it lately. You could google that for San Diego if you haven’t already.
In any case my advice is to wait and see what happens. You might to be able to put yourself in a much better ownerships and equity position if you wait, with or without financial assistance.NotCranky

Participant“but what impact (if any) do you think this will have on the correction in our market? Slightly slower decline?”
JC not a stupid question.
It is always true in RE that the top 10% of realtors do a very disproportionately high amount of the sales. In this market those that are getting all the listings for REO are doing relativly well. The market on the other hand, is not. These “investors” are not affecting the volume side of things enough to really sway the market.
Sales are dismal regardless of who the few buyers are. Also the fact that the current buyers are looking for “bargains” bodes poorly for sellers in and of it self.Hope that answers your question.
