ParticipantGood call noone. I’d would go for kicks but we will be out of town. Even if these houses were to sell at the starting bid, which they won’t, it would mean that we could take our time with the inventory of the greater market and get similiar or better prices.

Participant“Its funny that you would say that Chris, because up until a few weeks ago I was getting concerned that this site was becomig more like an SDCIA board.”
Come on, JWM you are chronically concerned about this, truth be told. Getting nervous? It will be o.k.

ParticipantOh and Rustico, I am 32.

That was about my age in 1992 when I bought my first house, after realizing a few years earlier I couldn’t. 38% off the price of the previous buyer. It was in Normal Heights. You are in good shape. I didn’t have a fraction of your knowlege. There was nothing like this blog around.

The last one we discussed here was a party. Participants on all levels were giddy . MlS type prices were paid. The pictures and coverage in the Tribune looked made it look like some sort or uplifting and regal event, champagne and all. Foreclosure auctions are not supposed to be public fun. This really speaks to a hangover from the mania. I agree the better deals are down the road but a flop here might be a good “Bellwether” and also perhaps be good for negative Pyschology. We are also in the traditional slow selling season. All the bad news a possible convergence of market ills comes down on this one. I am not saying it is going to happen. It just seems like there is a possibility. If the “success” compares negatively to the last one, which it should, that alone will be interesting.NotCranky

ParticipantAnybody else have thoughts on Tierrasanta for family of three? (10 year old daughter)
My close friends live in San Carlos. It is one neighborhood over from Tierrasanta. They also have a ten year old daughter. The mother of the family is likely a good judge of schools because she is a teacher. She has been quite happy with grade school and other community ammenities for her daughter. The High School, Patrick Henry, gives me concerns compared to other similiar suburban neighborhoods.I am sure it is better than the public schools most of the centrally located areas. If you don’t want to live in the suburban areas north of the 52, High school is going to be difficult. We moved east and our kids can go to Steele Canyon High, which recently went charter. Maybe a neighborhood like Rancho San Diego would work? So far commuting on the 94 has not been bad at all.
