ParticipantBody cams.
Mandatory body cams.
You can all me an idiot, but if you’ve already got your gun drawn and pointed at the guy, maybe you can wait until he gets the gun out before you shot him for your being afraid he’s going to pull out a gun? And, I still don’t want that job.
I suspect any trained officer should be able to squeeze off a couple rounds into the guy in the time it’ll take to get it clear of a concealed holster and pointed out the window.
or do we continue pre-emptively killing everybody because we’re afraid of a highly skilled kill shot past the body armor from the holstered weapon?
No body cam, so this is all he said/ she said and brother in blue says.
But who knows, maybe he made a high speed grab for “the weapon”, which seems odd for a man with his woman and child in the car….

ParticipantIs the landlord of sound mind? Does she like you? Can the sentimental reasons for her holding it be converted into a sentimental helping a nice family live new memories or the memories she’s holding on to via a rent to own or a rent to own, purchase and landlord carry a private note back?

Participant
Of course, to “uncloak the truth about Trump” really won’t do anything. As is stated many times in the article, the truth doesn’t really matter. Hillary must persuade the electorate to believe that Trump is a psychopath. And emotional persuasion is not her strong suit.
I disagree, I don’t think the people voting for Trump care if he’s a psychopath. Kind of like Chavez in Venezuela.
Swing voters, maybe, but I think they already have a good feel for Trump. They also have a good feel for Hillary.
So, Chavez or the oligarchs?
Anybody want to talk about the economy leaving 45 million people behind to be on SNAP?

ParticipantNo, I can do math quite well. I don’t really have a skin in the game of illegal or not, it’s a distraction, IMHO. As I said, most taxpayers that have kids really aren’t even paying enough to pay for their kids to go to school.
It’s like the UC system admission discussion. bickering over 10% foreign students because California kids can’t get in. Again, simple math. If you want California kids to be able to get into UC with a B average in high school like in the 1960s, you just need to restore funding to the UC system like the 1960s based on Cali having 600k students a year now.

We’re about $20K above the $417K low conforming limit.
Checking the easy online sources shows about a 0.25% hit for being in the higher conforming zone. Is this carrying through or other places not doing that?
Refi-ing is a no brainer. Which refi is the question.
* Shave a 0.25% and keep the higher balance
* take a 1/8th point, use the credit to fund the impound and pay the extra towards principal and hope rates hold for six months and refi again
* kick in $20k and take the 0.5% off the rate
If you have access to $20K, it’s well worth your effort
to get loan amount to $417,000.
Another factor is current home value.
Sorry, missed this. Are there major break points on loan to value? 70% (30% equity), 60%? 50%?

Participant
Which goes back to my point, the illegals using California schools are a far bigger problem than the border crossers. Sure it is illegal for border crossers to use our schools and I get your frustration. But it is also illegal for non American without a green card to reside in the U.S. in the first place. There are exponentially more of these kids than there are border crossers in South Bay as well as everywhere.
Sure Southbay also gets the double whammy of the border crossers too, but even in S. Bay I guarantee you that there are way more illegals/anchors in your schools than there are border crossers.
Actually, illegal or not is pretty much irrelevant. The simple math is at 2 or 3 kids, the vast majority of taxpayers that complain continuously about their taxes are hard pressed to even cover the cost of their kid being in school.
Whether you’re a citizen or illegal, the median home price of $505K doesn’t cover a single kids hit in school. (Luckily, they’re only in school for 13 years).
If married your income tax doesn’t add up to squat, at $100K Taxable income (after deductions), it’s $4291 in tax.
Suffice to say, the 80% aren’t covering the cost of having their kids in school.

Calif schools also get funding from property taxes, which immigrants, illegal or not, are paying through the homes they lease – part of their rent goes to pay the owner’s property tax.
While they might contribute some property tax, California spends $45 billion in general funds, roughly $7200 per pupil. With Federal funding, that rises to $76 billion, that rises to $12,100 per pupil.
I seriously doubt said children’s families are living in $1.25 million dollar homes to cover the cost of a single child. Let alone more than one child or any other services.

ParticipantThat’s the analysis paralysis.
Will the 3.25% Brexit induced mortgage last for seven months? Will it be longer? Or is it going to disappear in a month when the world realizes even with Brexit, it’s pretty much business as usual around the world?
It’s hard saying no to the lower rate, but the reality is the payback on the lower payment versus the funds to get it, is a little north of a decade.
Hence, if I can do a 3.5% for near zero out pocket. Or take a 3.625% for a net credit to my impounds.
Or maybe go conforming to $417K, back the rate up to 3.375% or even 3.5% and apply the credit to the balance to reduce the amount I need to bring to the table. How much credit will I get on a $417k at 3.5%? 1.5% about $7000 ( is the credit running about 1 pt per 1/8th?) Could I push it to 3.625% and get the banks to kick in half or more of the amount I need to get myself below $417K? Then if rates stay low for six months, I could refi lower and suck credits out.
If rates stay at this level for a year, could I walk myself below the $417K and essentially have the banks pay for the principal reduction by taking a higher interest rate for a year ( a grand total of an extra $1000 in interest)
Of course, if interest rates rise, I’m stuck with a 30 year at a rate lower than I’ve got now, but maybe a half point higher than it could have been. A net $25 grand or so over the life of the loan if I don’t refinance again.

ParticipantSo how’s this play out when brexit doesn’t happen?
I know Greenland exited back in the 90s, but basically, the EU member states and parliament need to agree to the terms. It took Greenland three years and that was with the smaller EU and they weren’t a cash cow for the rest.

NSR, I do agree that Black people are often too sensitive and unnecesarily worry about being dissed. But I do understand why.
I don’t get this. If you’ve never been black (which I presume you haven’t), how can you possibly know if “Black people are often too sensitive”? You can’t possibly ever see anything from the perspective of a black man. And I can tell you from first hand experience, if you’ve ever been part of a minority that has been discriminated against, the world does not look the same.
Just for the sake of argument – since you can only know your own perspective, whatever that may be, how can you know “the world does not look the same” as it does to someone else? That would require understanding two perspectives and comparing them, which you have said can’t be done. All that being said, I think the “too sensitive” comment was an unjustified sweeping generalization – but Brian knows I disagree with him most of the time.
I guess I can’t know that the world does not look the same. What I do know is that I’ve been sensitive to what others have said or done, and others couldn’t see my perspective. But none of the others had ever opened up a job rejection letter that said “We won’t hire you because we don’t hire jew boys”.
Yea, never mind the being told not to bother even applying because the company really needs an AA hire in the spot…
Oh, I forgot, anything AA isn’t racist. Granted this was back in the day before people got PC and figured out that saying stuff like that goes really bad.

ParticipantI feel sorry for you if you take a cartoon poster for safety from the Red Cross and after counting noses leap to it being “hate crime” or as the twitterina’s skrieked ‘super racist’,
At worst it’s unconscious bias. Sadly this is were our country is at, counting noses on everything.
How dare I and how could I possibly see “those kids are running, that guy is drinking a beer in a bottle, he’s horsing around, they’re shoving …”
Oh, wait, backup, better count noses… Hey blue whale, what the f’s up with this?
Curse that white privilege, I just saw people.

ParticipantOnline qoutes are a bit flakey, but equity <=25% seems to be +1/8th. Balance between $417K + $650K +1/8th pt. Over $650K, +1/4. So under $417K and over 25% equity and I see lots of 3.25% and $1 fee listed.
