ParticipantI wish Karl Rove moves from Central Texas to 4-Closure Ranch because as a boy-genius he might be able to help solve the problem of the spent-plutonium-infused kool-aid from Moab, Utah showering the lawns over there.

ParticipantAn all brick-sided, picket-fence walled 4,000 sq-ft brand new house with granite kitchen and half-acre yard in Central Texas can be had for $250,000 currently. There are green meadows, sunshine, and plenty of spring waters to go with that.
Give or take $200,000 for the weather-and-surfing tax, the same San Diego house should only add up to $450,000 for comparison. Anything above that should be outrageous. After all, you don’t want to overpay for the trickle of undiluted water from the Colorado river infused with Moab, Utah’s toxic dumpsite kool-aid watering the 4-Closure lawns.

ParticipantPoor Mr. Countrywide-CEO Mozillo. His over $500-Million cash-outs were not yet good enough for him, he was crying for a bailout so that the gravy train for him keep on chugging along. And he got his wish from his friends from the Fed. (Sarcasm off)
The supply-side, trickle down bailout he received would hopefully throw some bits and scraps to the homedebtors in 4-Closure ranch.
Piggs are 99.99% humane and don’t wish harm to anybody. We are like the WEATHERMEN on tv who point out to a Cat.5 hurricane coming. We may look giddy and excited delivering the news, but we sure don’t wish any harm or don’t hope for armageddon on anybody. We are just focusing on the fact that everybody should take precaution and seek financial shelter AND don’t repeat the mistakes of stupid suckers. We also debate on what’s the best strategy to deal with the coming onslaught.
Why can’t some people here be MORE SOPHISTICATED to know the nuance of our giddyness and stop badgering us as nefarious people. Enough already.

ParticipantWithout delving into severe paranoia yet, did we just see the big footprint of the plunge protection team late in the afternoon trading in Wall Street today? Did they unleash the Cayman Islands “catch the falling knife” war-chest scheme to soak up most of the plunge? For the sake of silly discussion if PPT exists and if the printing presses were real in the stock markets, is this good or bad?

ParticipantThank you, SDowner.
My spouse appreciates very much that I am very conservative and practical with our finances. Compared to him, I am a cheapskate. I try my best to cook all our delicious meals to avoid eating out, for example. I penny-pinch, period. However, I give way to the joys of HIS life too, like his brand-new 1100-cc Honda Shadow we bought for cash, for him to “save gas” (yeah, right….)
But maybe there is truth that sometimes the wife has more of a need to keep up with the Joneses. There are exceptions like us, of course – (they call us the weirdos, ha-ha.)
