If you are in the highest tier and get a 5KW system it should save you about $2K a year. I think it costs about $25-27K to install such a system, so 26/2 = 13 years for the average person whose bill exceeds $150 on average. Though we have a new roof it is an older house so the pitch isn’t very steep. I would love to buy a system but the wife doesn’t want to incur any more debt and I can also see that viewpoint. So in a nutshell if you live east of the 5, are not planning on replacing roof soon then I think it makes since if you fall in the tier 3/4 arena each month.

moneymakerParticipantSo I can buy a house with less than 15 lbs of gold. Seems like I should start prospecting for a living. Maybe a super conducting metal detector with discriminator. I’ll bet these cash for gold places are making a killing ripping people off. I think I remember once calculating that the stuff in the Vicks inhaler was worth more than gold, of course that was probably when gold was only worth $300/oz.

moneymakerParticipant92102 link would have to agree with flu $5 million is not enough but let’s assume we are splitting a big pot. I’d love to live near the ocean but would probably wait before buying there. There are many great oasis’ in San Diego. I like neighborhoods where people get out and walk their dogs, ideally west of the 5.
