The condo numbers are about the same and houses went from 10 to 15, once again down 28.5% so how can the median overall be up? I guess there was 1 new house sold in ’11 but none in ’10 so I would think that would not be factored in. When I crunch the numbers I get down by 15.85%
moneymakerParticipantIf by “we” in the original post it means top 1%, then yes. The top 1% should most definitely spend “their” money. I think history shows if they don’t spend it then it will be taken away via “revolution”. The problem is that the top 1% don’t like to spend money unless it makes them more money (investing) so that leaves a big hole as far as stimulation. If the government would allow me to withdraw my 401K money tax/penalty free or even a 15% capital gains tax I would be more than happy to buy individual stocks that are now paying dividends that I personally think will do well in the future. But alas the pen touch’th not the paper in Congress.
moneymakerParticipantThe movie will certainly make money and there will be a part 2 released next year. The low budget seems to have been possible because the actors are not major box office draws. Politics aside I think the movie deserved higher than the 5.5 that it got on IMDB.com

By the way the ink although expensive is really special I think it has to be magnetic or conductive for the print head to spit it out. HP is looking to use their printer heads to inject accurate amounts of drugs into the body, isn’t that special. You think the current refills are expensive wait till they are filled with testosterone, dopamine, cocaine, or whatever. You’ll be able to have a tattoo that keeps you from getting pregnant, imagine that!
moneymakerParticipantGood luck getting justice and let us know how it turns out. Something tells me vigilante justice may be popping up soon. Charles Bronson’s Deathwish movies were always popular when the economy was in the toilet. P.S.- I think lojack makes a product for laptops, might want to consider it for the new one, assuming there will be a new one.

I think there are probably a lot of people out there that have sufficient incomes to buy above $700k but may not have good credit or be short on cash right now. Before being a homeoccupier(it’s not mine yet) I would have probably agreed with bearishgurl, but now in this market while living in San Diego I think it is a good move on the governments part as now they can shovel in a bunch of cash as upfrontMIP and really how much lower can houses get? Ooops maybe I shouldn’t have asked that. By the way I’m still treading water.
moneymakerParticipantThanks “bake” guess I’ll stick it out and count my blessings as I don’t have $38K laying in a bank account earning almost no interest right now.
moneymakerParticipantDoes anybody know of a source that graphs all the different global markets,FTSE,NIKKEI,HSI,CSI,KOSPI,ASX, indexed to the price of gold? I’m sure their trends would be similar to ours but could some look better.
moneymakerParticipantYes bearishgurl I think you are probably right. I also forgot that our MI will be retired in a little over 2 years, assuming we have 78% equity at that time(I’ve got my fingers crossed, although the way things are going we will probably have to prepay quit a bit for that to happen). I think now MIP is over the entire life of the loan. So I guess we can’t take advantage of the excellent rates now either even though we are not under water, have 2 good incomes, have never been late and have excellent credit. Bummer. Well hopefully I can invest that money I would have otherwise spent on closing costs/20 year mortgage.
November 9, 2011 at 6:42 AM in reply to: Is it possible to take me off Title, I m on the mortgage and still owe money #732497moneymakerParticipantLike a quit claim deed? Ok I’m selling my BofA stock, just kidding. Actually though I’m not. Bought it @ $6.30 @ the open and am going to sell it @ $6.61
moneymakerParticipantYes what I was interested in finding out is the ratio between shares outstanding and shares issued. Would it not be true that when BofA issues $400 million in shares it would dilute the existing shares. They don’t even pay a dividend so in effect that would be bad for the share holder. Now it might help their books look better which might help their execs get bonuses, the same execs that wanted to charge a fee and are no doubt looking into other ways to milk money. Anyway I digress because I believe that mergers and acquisitions are on the horizon and I think that a company with less outstanding stock might be a take over target.
moneymakerParticipantI believe the employees of Groupon have to wait 6 months before they can sell their stock interests. Just heard that Bank Of America is going to issue 400 Million in stock. Haven’t they been around like a 100 years or so, you would think all there stock would have been issued by now. I think B of A is doing it to raise capital because the government has told them they are too highly leveraged or maybe it is to balance out the millions they are losing in deposits as people switch to credit unions.
moneymakerParticipantGroupon is issuing 5.5% of their companies estimated value in stock. Let’s say they later sell 4.5% when they need more money. Ok now let’s go down the road a little further say a few years, they still are not making money they have now issued 100% of their stock for sale can they go on issuing more stock? Total number of stock shares times their value equals market cap I think (somebody correct me if I’m wrong please, seriously).
November 4, 2011 at 9:19 AM in reply to: Buying again, 2 years after Short Sale – questions for you pros #732226moneymakerParticipantDon’t forget about car repairs, unless you have the tools and ability to repair and maintain yourself. Personally I think if you take the lowest income between your wife and yourself and add a minimum wage income to it and then can still afford the mortgage then now is a great time to buy. I don’t buy sdrealtors analysis of inflation causing future default as rents will invariably go up as well, and you gotta live somewhere, right! Just my 2¢.
