I’ll be taking 2 Cupcakes to work with me tomorrow in my lunch. No matter how expensive they are, I paid $2.50 for a box of 8. It is still cheaper than eating out.
moneymakerParticipantYes I figured out on my own that life insurance is not for the poor or the rich. I fall in between, so if i can get more for less, I’m gonna do it. It will be interesting to see if my employer tries to tax me on the 1x earnings that they give me for free, and if so, at what value?
moneymakerParticipantWell I get my free physical tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll be super duper preferred.
moneymakerParticipantIs the whole world in debt because of leveraged borrowing? I loan paul $6 and based on that he loans peter $180, then Peter can in turn loan out money to someone else. Either it’s that or the rich are hoarding their money, my bet is on the hoarding theory as I see on TV, hoarding is a very common problem.

moneymakerParticipantJust thought I’d resurrect this old thread and say I did make a litle money on BAC, now I think the play is HPQ. It will be a long play, so not for the squeamish.
moneymakerParticipantI think I’m ready. Have a gas generator, boat full of gas, literally. Have an RV to stay in if the house is destroyed, weeks of food and water, thanks to rain barrels. By the way this is my first post from a smart phone.
moneymakerParticipantJust curious, did you get a permit after installing the system JJ? I just had a system installed at my house and was “not” told by the company doing it beforehand that I needed to get a permit. All in all I am happy with the system, but had I read your posting prior I’m sure I could have saved money by doing it myself.
moneymakerParticipantHow about Clairemont/Linda Vista right around Mesa College. Nice homes when I was driving through there yesterday. Didn’t see too many for sale and not sure of the price but seemed really nicely kept for middle class neighborhood.
moneymakerParticipantSounds similar to our refi. We shaved off a little over 1% but ended up paying $100 more a month, switched from 30 to a 20. The weird thing is we used an online broker found on Costco’s site and ended up with US Bank, where I already have an account. Seems to me that if US Bank would have just approached us directly they could have cut out the middleman. One weird thing that I read in the contract and I’m sure it’s probably in a lot of them is that a second mortgage is not allowed. For us it makes no difference as we have no plan to get a second but for people planning to add an addition or put in solar it might be a bitter pill to swallow.
October 13, 2012 at 8:49 PM in reply to: As predicted, Fannie is beginning to sell blocks of assets in bulk to REITs #752570moneymakerParticipantI wish I had bought when my brother did back in 1993. I would have been 31 and although I didn’t think I could afford a home back then, if I waited until I thought I could afford a home I would probably still be on the sidelines waiting. My suggestion to anyone now that is 26-31 years old, would be to buy a house that costs the same as you would be paying for rent and you “can’t” make a mistake. Now is the time to buy and the “rich” know this and that is why the majority of purchases are going to cash buyers.

I think the Fannie Mae sell off is a good idea, I’m only surprised the banks didn’t cut out the middlemen and flip/rent out the houses themselves. The only fixed cost in life that is out of whack behind credit card rates is rents. Rents should not be so high that they cover PITI 100%
moneymakerParticipantJust bought some HPQ. Cheap! Just wish they were doing as well as Samsung.
October 2, 2012 at 9:27 PM in reply to: Any one has security camera system in your home? DIY or Professional Installation #752162moneymakerParticipantI have outside cameras and dogs. Don’t have a lot of faith in either of them. I am a little hesitant to put cameras inside the house, maybe it has something to do with the 5th amendment. If i travelled a lot I would, but there is somebody home more than 70% of the time.
