There is a habitat for humanity type outfit. It is http://www.gridalternatives.org , so for someone that just wants to make the world a better place or learn how to do it yourself this is probably the way to go. I have not done it yet.
The labor part of solar seems to equal the 30% tax credit, more or less.moneymakerParticipantI hope not. Glad my son didn’t join the military right now, because it would really piss me off if we went to war with Russia over the Ukraine. Not saying they don’t deserve their independence, just saying maybe we should ask them first if they want to be Russians, maybe a majority of them do.
moneymakerParticipant
What inventory?
http://www.redfin.com/zipcode/92126/real-estate#!v=8&sst=®ion_id=38125®ion_type=2&market=socal
Well in 91926 there were 87 units in inventory on 1/01/2014 now there are 98, that’s over 10% increase in inventory.
April 24, 2014 at 9:39 PM in reply to: Never Ever Take a Car With Rims You Care About to Costco Tires #773305moneymakerParticipantI’m pretty sure I lost a few lug nut covers at Costco, but when i didn’t first notice the first one gone before leaving they told me after calling them later that they didn’t have them. So now they are all gone and I don’t have to care anymore about them forgetting to put them back on. I figured someone there must be selling them on Ebay. I’m not picky enough to go buy new ones for a 12 year old car.P.S- for our Miata we go to Discount Tire, got rid of the run flats as they were too expensive and gave a rougher ride.
moneymakerParticipantRemember having this conversation with my dad before he died and we each made a pact to come back and tell the other what is on the other side of death if anything. Well he died in 1997 and several years later I was in my living room and I was amazed to see for a brief moment what I can only describe as an etheral burning bush about 3 feet off the floor. It was there maybe a second or two and then gone, no voices like in the bible. I’m sure I was not hallucinating. Even with this possible proof I still do not know if it was “the burning bush” or the fires of hell, knowing my dad it could have gone either way. My conclusion to all this is we don’t know everything that is going on out there.
moneymakerParticipantIt would only take one of those huge frozen (think carbon dioxide) asteroids to hit us and flood the planet temporarily with CO2 to snuff out most life. It would only take 5 minutes to do this, much more effective than water with an easier clean up afterwords.
moneymakerParticipant
Has anyone installed their own solar? Interesting read on net metering. Eventually SDGE will not have to accept net metering customers https://www.sdge.com/clean-energy/net-energy-metering/overview-nem-cap My guess is this will happen about the time Fed Credits expire. Of course there could be new legislation by then.
Even if it takes 10 years for system to pay for itself that would be an effective rate of 7.2% a year, pretty darn good for current economic times. Not to mention free electricity after that.moneymakerParticipantI think the reason we haven’t had this inflation is because our money supply is not on our shores. A lot of it is overseas and hence not really part of our economy at the moment. If all that money were to come pouring back (and it could) then we would have the expected inflation. So the question is when will we no longer be considered a safe haven to other countries? As soon as the rest of the worlds economy starts to recover in my opinion. Which, also my opinion, will be slowly and steadily. Assuming no unforeseen calamity we will have steadily rising inflation until all the hourly workers are poor.
moneymakerParticipantClassic!
moneymakerParticipantLet’s look at God’s record for a moment:
Adam and Eve-failure
Noah-next great experiment-didn’t eliminate sin
What next? Immortality so that we have to live with our sins-I predict failure there as well. As much as I like to see the best in people it seems when we get together we tend to mess things up.
With immortality we will all have to be fixed just like our pets from the shelter, i think that takes a lot of fun out of itmoneymakerParticipantCheck this place out http://olivewoodgardens.org/gardening-classes/
Evidently they are doing a container garden class this morning, which should remind you of Paris if you lived in the city. The place was once owned by John Walton, one of the Walmart heirs, now deceased. I’ve been there for dinner many years back. Anyway, even if you aren’t into gardening you might meet someone there, you just have to go out and mingle.moneymakerParticipantThings might get worse or better, I’m out of the market other than 401K. I’m investing in solar and fun stuff, but if silver dips any lower I may have to buy some.P.S.-Just realized that in CA when earnings are over 100K you are welcomed into the “pay twice as much state taxes” club, when married that is.
moneymakerParticipantMaybe a big beer company will do a study that proves beer lowers bad cholesterol, then I could feel better about drinking my Samuel Adams. Costco has a variety pack of Sam Adams that is pretty good.
moneymakerParticipantI suppose I’m really renting the money I used to buy my house, even though true, I don’t like to think of it that way.
