Found out they were sold to Penske about 2 months ago. They are advertising as if nothing is happening. Many La Mesans will be shocked when they hear the news.
moneymakerParticipantThat’s a good one Shoveler. Dilbert is my favorite comic strip. I guess i missed that one, will have to visit the website to catch up. I guess http://www.dilbert.com/2014-11-10/ is appropriate as well.
moneymakerParticipantIt’s possible, just not likely. My half brother is in rehab for the upteenth time. I personally think he would be better off (and happier) living in a commune with professional brain washers who would have a better chance of changing him.
moneymakerParticipantNext time you sit down for dinner take your wife by the hands and have a staring contest, that should shake things up a bit. By the way let us know who wins and don’t be ashamed if it’s her. If you haven’t “found” yourself by the time you’re 40 then you’re probably lost. Above link reminds me of the movie “Interstellar” where even the computer(who’s truthful 90% of the time) says it ok to lie sometimes.
moneymakerParticipantAfter hitting a low of $15 early this morning seems like silver is skyrocketing back up.
moneymakerParticipantIf you had given them the report and then they put it back on with same MO then I would say yes, deceptive. Did the previous owners live there or was it a foreclosure. If a foreclosure then the sellers are not held to as high a standard for truthfulness I believe. This would also be true of relatives selling the house if they did not recently live there. Perfect houses are far and few between, sounds like that was a good one to pass on. I;m pretty sure it is illegal to sell a house without a working furnace.
moneymakerParticipantAgreed spdrun. Silver correlates to the VIX. It wouldn’t take a lot to drive it back up though, just have to be patient.
moneymakerParticipantWhen silver drops you should buy more, not get out. Determine how much you want to be invested then buy in 10-20% increments. For me it’s different I am buying hard bullion in $1500+ increments to avoid taxes. P.S.-I guess most people feel good about the economy now as commodities are down and stocks are up.
moneymakerParticipantI paid $25,000 for a 6.2KW system, labor was $6200, tax credit will be $7500. System was turned on in May and have already generated 5.81 MWH. I’m happy, now just need to add it to my homeowners policy.
moneymakerParticipantI was comtemplating on a similar topic while driving home. Does the world need any more fast food restaurants or another DQ (love the French Silk Blizzard) or another price gouging 7-11. Even in my business it is sometimes a stretch to say we need twice as much or twice as many. So what constitutes a morally concious business. Do we need any more cell phone manufacturers? If I were to start my own business it would be very hard to find a business that everyone would agree benefits society. Time to pour a glass of wine and think on this for a while.
moneymakerParticipantI think it is interesting how people want to buy American goods, but when it comes to silver/gold bullion no one cares where it was mined.
moneymakerParticipantI’m not sure the government is printing money (in excess of current inflation). If they wanted to balance the budget then they could, but I don’t see that happening anytime soon. The government doesn’t want inflation any more than the average American, because then their servicing on the debt would go up. In my mind it’s inevitable, it’s just a question of when, sorta like the big quake that’s coming to CA. Why not prepare now for it.
moneymakerParticipantSpent the day in the jury lounge, so took a book, “Three Cups of Tea”. It was the most boring day I have spent in a while, not because of the book, but because after 3.5 hours no panel was called. Got off easy I guess. The book is by Greg Mortenson and chronicles how an ordinary person can effect change halfway around the globe. Haven’t finished the book but my civic duty is complete.
October 27, 2014 at 10:10 PM in reply to: Tomorrow I will be in escrow. Have some questions. #779624moneymakerParticipantI personally don’t see a problem sharing the appraisal info with the seller, they have already agreed to a price so they can not raise it but they may have to lower it if appraisal does not come close to the asking price. I know that happened to someone I know who was selling and did not want to go through the hassle of spending more time looking for another buyer. Can be a good reality check for the seller.
