ParticipantEven though I went through Countrywide, now owned by B of A, I had similar problems. They promised 30 days, had paper work to them in a matter of days, and it ended up taking 45 days. Would not respond to E-mails, loan processor would call in sick and no one would know. It was horrible, like a train wreck in slow motion. Not as bad as the broker we left who tried to get me a loan with a company that had it’s license revoked in CA for non disclosure and was still operating under the same name, broker didn’t even know. Took me just a few minutes to check them out using the internet. The originating loan officer was the only person I would call a professional in the whole process. If I had to do it again, and I won’t have to, I would run 2 or 3 loan apps simultaneously and who ever drags their feet gets dropped. All in all everything turned out just great, the only time I’ve ever seen my wife in tears was during this process.

ParticipantFinally a good thread, it was starting to get a little boring. I came to the realization tonight that one of the big problems with our system is that everyone lies when they advertise, and I mean everyone (or so it seems). You would think this would run counter to our judeo-christian coulture, but apparently not. I am pretty much getting sick of all the commercials, the bait and switch on Craigslist, and maybe it’s starting to depress me. I have no reason to be depressed, I have a nice house,a job, a loving wife, a son that doesn’t get into trouble (a teenager at that), I don’t pay alimony or child support. Many people are smart, many are capable, but I’m coming to realize that few are ethical or morally conciounable.-Sorry for the rant, hope I didn’t ruin the thread. P.S.- From April 1,1932 to July 1,1932 the DOW more than doubled.

ParticipantI bought a Hotpoint microwave (yes made in China) about 6 months ago and guess what, it didn’t even make it to it’s 6 month birthday. Piece of crap! I think if more people were aware of how crappy these imports are they would not be buying them. Sure I could fix it, but as soon as I find that receipt it will be on it’s way back to China. I’m not saying everything in China is crap, just the stuff they send us, oh and their domestic batteries too. They don’t really believe in returning things over there so all the chinese test everything in the stores before they buy them, maybe we should start doing this too.

ParticipantThe next tippng point will be food. Coffee has been fallling for a long time,i know it’s not really food, now it is starting to rise. Food in my opinion has been undervalued for a long time,8-10 years. Now when food prices go up everyone will feel it and that will start the inflationary cycle.
