ParticipantLast purchase was a Magellan 1475T, nice unit, really appreciate the free traffic updates, don’t use it much but a nice touch. The 2 problems with Magellan are you have to pay for software updates and they are known to die or lockup unexpectedly. I’m still afraid to update the firmware on my oldest Magellan, I read too many horror stories. I pretty much stick to buying what Costco carries that has the best instant rebate. What I would like to get is an HD radio so that I can identify songs or artists, but I am too cheap to pay a professional to install one.

ParticipantI can tell you from experience that there are all kinds of rules related to easements, unfortunately/ or not they are not enforced. It is true however that you cannot block access, if you build over those manholes you will eventually(could be many years) have to tear it down. I would be ok with man holes, think of it as your own private bomb shelter, just kidding.

ParticipantI’m a little confused, I thought legislation was just written to ensure the consumer/producer could sell the electricity back to SDG&E. I’m thinking about doing it, I suppose what is keeping me from doing it is I don’t fully understand how the electricity gets back to SDG&E. I assume it goes to the neighbors. Does anybody know if SDG&E meters at the stepdown transformer. I doubt that they do, so they are just trusting the meter I suppose. Without selling it back I don’t think it pencils out for us as we are not really using much electricity during the day when the panels are producing the most.
