Participant
With the government completely behind the “double F…” now, the next bankruptcy risks will fall on the government itself….but wait, that means you and me.
This government is going to drag us to bankruptcy with them. Everyone is going to share the pain that were done by irresponsible tops and bottoms.
The crowd here ending up missing the irresponsible rides but now will join in to pay the price.
…and it doesn’t matter who you vote for, they’re all the same. Obama, McCain, Democratic Party, Republican Party, blah, blah, blah. Almost all of our politicians suck. Too bad Ron Paul is only one man.

Participant
Frankly, I was a little surprised about how badly the local S.D. economy is doing these days. I would have thought that the economy is more diverse than say the Bay Area (which is concentrated in tech).
It might be diverse, but one thing I’ve noticing it’s only diverse in the sense that S.D. hosts a lot of companies that aren’t HQ’d here. So it seems like when the economy contracts, and companies need to cut heads, they start by closing remote locations. That said, how many major employers are either (1) hq’d here or (2) have an office that accounts for more than 30% of the entire company’s workforce? Don’t have an answer to that question.
I think there are a lot FLU. Just off the top of my head:
QCOM, Intuit, Amylin, LPL Financial, Websense, SAIC, General Atomics, AMN Healthcare, PETCO, Callaway, TOPPS, Jack in the Box, Encore Capital, etc…
