I watched the speech. I was filled with pride, that Michelle Obama could be our next first lady, and with fear. Fear that this country still may not be awake enough to make that happen.
I don’t find myself wanting to post politically on Piggington’s because I’ve seen that the majority of political posters here are somewhat right-wing and combative. No need to stir hornet’s nests…
But I do have hope, that things have changed, and that a couple very middle-class African Americans are about to be in charge of our government. That would be truly revolutionary, in a way that is hard to imagine. We’ll see.

August 12, 2008 at 9:52 AM in reply to: Peter Schiff: Housing prices will go back to 2000 or lower… #256070Mark HolmesParticipantMock him all you want, but it doesn’t change reality. Having read his nearly two-year-old book, I can tell you that everything he’s predicted so far has come true. And I would be willing to bet that both of you are homeowners…
A very old man, a native San Diegan, told me a few years ago, that we would be able to tell the bottom of the market when “everyone knows that real estate is the worst investment you can make.”
As long as there are people arguing that now is the time to buy, before “it’s too late” I’ll wait to buy. At least until 2011 or 2012.
I don’t have to buy. But it seems there are increasingly plenty of people (and plenty of banks) who have to sell.

Now THAT’S a mandate.
