Fatty Boom-boom, You wrote: “Make the decisions and get on with the things that make your family’s life better.” Well no duh… that is exactly what I’ve done.
Moving across country and starting over is not the easiest thing to do, especially for a dedicated CA girl with family all in SolBeach, DelMar and Coronado, but it was the RIGHT thing to do for my kids, for our financial future. I did not like listening to all the know-it-all “investors” telling me I’d regret it and that they’d see me “next year” when I moved back to CA after making such a horrible mistake.
I love it here now, the public schools where I live are absolutely amazing. There is no comparison with CA public schools, even in the best neighborhoods. The great things that are happening for my kids would never have happened out there (academically, musically). But, I acknowledge that I have the best of both worlds since I get to spend my summers on the beach in DMar. (although Lake George and Biddeford Pool have their summer charms….) maybe I wouldnt like it so much if I was really cut off from CA completely.
I come to pigginton to watch the show unfold, but mostly to wait and understand when is the best time to buy a vacation place (which we can do because we made a good decision to move someplace cheaper and actually build a SAVINGS ACCOUNT).
lostkittyParticipantYou are correct, very petty, but also quite interesting! I was absolutely certain the housing thing was a pyramid scheme – and it turns out I was right. My motivation for reading the tax site is not go “rub their noses in it”, but rather to laugh my ass off behind their backs. Petty indeed, and quite satifying.

lostkittyParticipantJG- You must be KIDDING me (or yourself)… you can't seriously believe what you wrote about Bishop's. My first serious boyfriend went to Bishop's. he and all his friends had one persona for the adults to see (nice haircuts, clean cars and clothes, decent grades) and a completely OTHER persona on their own. i went to all their parties, and let me tell you… those kids were nuts! MUCH worse than the TPHS kids. The drugs were rampant. Many had international connections to drugs and it flowed freely. And.. dont forget this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Phillip_Cunanan

lostkittyParticipantYes, just buy a house for $250k and keep selling back-n-forth between a friend and yourself…. until that pesky decimal point finally moves over. Viola!!! 2.5M…

lostkittyParticipantI sent her an email last year when this all started suggesting she should publicly apologize to Rich. She sent me numerous emails back trying to convince me that I was wrong to suggest it.
I deleted my link to her site, not that she cares since I refused to join or pay… ridiculous
lostkittyParticipantHavent posted here in months… but…
I am here to present my hands for the ruler lashings.
I hang my head in shame (for always sticking up for her) and disappointment (if she really posted that – which I suspect she did).
I am a devoted member of the Professor’s following, and am appalled by this.
lostkittyParticipantThis thread really got me thinking:
Everything said about moving out of state and actually having more money, better lifestyle really struck a chord with me. As I’ve said before, we left SD almost 5 years ago for upstate NY. I read the numbers and lower incomes for this area, but I dont SEE the same level of economic stress. We actually make more money, save more money, do more, spend more, live much better. It is the same for my friends. Most are loaded from a lifetime of stability. Even those without big incomes live fine lives, own homes, have pools and clubs they belong to, have all they need or want (and more), travel, etc. Even public school teachers can afford a life such as this… Imagine that……
the numbers dont tell the whole story (as usual).
Then I thought, what the hell do I keep coming back to pigginton.com for? I can argue politics at the Town Hall if i really care to. I can look up properties, numbers and articles myself in my search and wait for the best vacation place in SD for the summers. This RE crash thing is so slow moving – I’ll not miss anything by not checking up on the latest news every few hours as I try to do eveyrthing else I need to in a day. I dash off messages in a flash every chance I possibly can.
In short, I am totally addicted to pigginton. Not healthy. So sayonara. Hope I can resist the urge to return. Good luck to anyone else who is piggaddicted….January 19, 2007 at 4:27 AM in reply to: Why will Coronado prices continue to rise or will they? #43787lostkittyParticipantlookoutbelow –
In Coronado?
lostkittyParticipantsdnaivesob-
And what was I ‘implying’ that they would agree with – in your mind?
Please elaborate.
I was talking exclusively about the numbers and what they represent…. an INCREASED risk of being killed or maimed by terrorists since 9/11.
Is it getting better? Are we getting it under control?
Is there less risk today? Are we safer? Do you feel safer? -
