I agree. Kids dont even care about hypocrisy! Here in upstate NY – they are as happy as I am to slide their fannies into that luxurious heated leather!

I talk to my kids a lot about spending/politics/religion (especially religion – seems like the super-religious people like jg are multiplying like cockroaches in America).
However, I also want them to strive to make enough $$s for things which satisfy their needs… again, the heated seats!, good shoes, a comfortable home, foreign travel, etc….you know… the basics. Or at least what i consider to be the basics.

I can’t tell them the truth, because then I’ll feel hypocritical for driving around in a nice car. (I thoroughly enjoy sliding into those heated leather seats in the dead of winter. YUMMY.)

And i would never ever tell them that their votes dont matter (even though it sure seemd that way the past two ridiculous presidential elections).

Did you guys see my post about TechCoast Angels? I directed it to cyphire, and posted under off-topic.

You guys would probably enjoy being a part of it. Entrepreneurs everywhere!!! If I still lived in San Diego I’d be there. I am definitely of the entrepreneurial spirit as well, but only in a limited way… because if an idea will take me away from my 3 kids and parenting too much, I wont do it.

Thanks SD Realtor, I was wondering why so many just dont pay. Do you know if it is sometimes a banking/investing thing, like mentioned above, or is that just another one of those fake excuses people use to explain why they havent paid their taxes!
We lived in rancho santa Fe when I was little, and there were plenty of deadbeats out there with lots of excuses about why they didnt pay this or that. The ‘facade’ of wealth (vs. real wealth) is what gets me about San Diego. It has always been there, but it seems to keep getting worse and worse.
