I sold 3 years ago….both of my homes for serious profits, and retired from my profession, because of the taxes from the sale. I no longer need the mortgage interest deductions for a mortgage and I dont have any dogs, so I am WAY ahead of the recently new homeowner these days. The "Greater fool than I" analogy comes to mind here. I got out of the "fool" business a long time ago…..it usually happens when you get older.

I would not have retired so soon, if it werent for tax exposure from my real estate returns and retirement income, I liked my job. But now, I wouldnt change it for anything. 

Anytime you have to spend 3 dollars to save 1 dollar in taxes, its a exercise in ridiculousness. Wheres the logic ? ESPECIALLY if your "investment" is DEPRECIATING daily…like real estate. I hope people continue to buy real estate, I have a lot of friends that are agents and they deserve the sability. BUT, we all know it cant end nicely like that…..Even they admit that.

I saw the writing on the wall, it sure didnt take a genius, I couldnt care less what motivates other people, I only know whats right for me. So I sold. One thing is for sure, I would rather be where I am now than sitting on a house or two "wishing" the market would continue it skyrocket climb……

Like my father used to tell me: "Wish in one hand and shit in the other…then tell me which hand fills up faster".

I saw a poll in USAToday I believe a few months back that said over 50% of this country's population thinks the govt covered up some or all of it.

One will never know…..just like our previous knowledge of the Pearl Harbor attack at least 3 days prior to it happening. Unfortunately, that wasnt made public until a few short years ago……..I imagine 9-11 will have its own ghosts come out of some hidden closet 50-75 years from now too.

He is a student of Ayn Rand and ALL the implications of that need to be taken into consideration in your online research. He also shifts from Von Mises actions to Keynsian actions in his tenure, so its anyone's guess what he truly believes in.

Be careful with gold, hard to store and dangerous to have in posession if others know you have it. Plus the govt WILL take it from you like before, give you 48 hours to turn it all in. DHS has already got access to your safety deposit box at the bank, so dont try that one either.

I certainly would not care what he thought if was getting ready to commit (foolishly in my eyes) to a million dollar mortgage, he'll be long gone by the time you figure out he wasnt working in your best interest.

I believe we are doomed. There is no America or American values anymore. Its a memory for some of us, for others its a dream. I think this is perhaps the way all previous civilizations go. In 5 years or less, its going to be completely different looking than it is now.

I have lost respect for my govt (dem and repubs)  and our country. From here its a steady, slightly steep decline to the 3rd world or worse. I almost feel apologetic to my grown children.
