ParticipantAs someone stated before, people have many different reasons for choosing one location over another. To get back on topic…. if you are choosing to purchase in Stonebridge, or any area for that matter, you need to do your due diligence. They are a few good deals to be had out here. And there are also some seriously overpriced homes as well. Speaking with a few recent buyers at a weekend BBQ, I was suprised to hear what they paid….$900,000+ for ho hum locations and a basic McMansion. Each to his own though. Most recent buyers that I have spoken to were really set on Stonebridge for their own reasons.

ParticipantI feel the market out here will stay flat or drop more. I believe the homes that were just completed by ColRich have seen a price reduction. I think at your price point you will be able to purchase a really nice home. Of course other economic factors will affect the price.

ParticipantWarren Buffett has a saying, “When everyone is greedy, be cautious. When everyone is cautious, be greedy”. This mindset worked for us. We never ATM’ed our previous house, and dumped it when everything tanked in 2008. We were fortunate to land a great deal, at that time, in SB. As a previous post alluded to, considering who else is in the same market for the house we purchased, we scored. I don’t count on the house being an investment vehicle. If in 20 years it is worth what I paid for it, great. I would venture a guess that many Scripps Ranch buyers are somewhat insulated against market fluctuations.
