lindismithParticipant
ok, it’s actually called the “Bay View Suites” and it’s 12 stories high.
here’s a description I found on the web:
“With 170 spacious one and two bedroom suites, our guests enjoy added amenities such as separate bedroom and living room with pull out sofa, a microwave oven, refrigerator, two TVs, two phones with data ports, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Relax in our oversized whirlpool spa, play golf, go sport fishing or enjoy the numerous recreational activities for the whole family that are nearby.”The address is 801 National City Blvd. I checked Zillow for sales info but didn’t realize you can’t look up commercial properties on Zillow.
What’s not clear to all the readers of this thread is how MASSIVE the banner is advertising the condo conversion on this hotel! I will try to take a pic on my way home today, and post it. For now, here’s a pic of the hotel from the web.[img_assist|nid=1068|title=Bay View Suites|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=400|height=350]
lindismithParticipantsdrealtor, is 2006 28% or 23%? Your post is unclear.
Edit: Actually I get it now. You’re saying at some point in the year it jumped up, but ended up at 23%
lindismithParticipantNo, you did not have one too many. That banner went up very recently. It looks like they are converting the Sea Breeze hotel (I think that’s the name) into Condos, “starting from the 180s”!
And yes, it is next door to the Holiday Inn, and is same sort of shape and size – what a great architectural feature! Plus, it overlooks (and hears!) the I-5. Ocean views, close to the ball-park, e-z freeway access….
There are easily 15 floors, and each floor must have at least 10 rooms.
lindismithParticipantStill, it’s interesting they secured another $25 mil, and people are getting instant Zestimates sent to their phones while out in the field.
Who knows how it will all shake out.
I remember thinking no one would buy a car or a couch online. Members of my own family did both in the last 3 years.
Interesting times for real estate.
lindismithParticipantSo it looks like this:
1998 24%
1999 24%
2000 ?
2001 ?
2002 ?
2003 19%
2004 21%
2005 24%
2006 23%hmmm, nothing really conclusive. Would love to know what 2000-03 look like. I suspect the data’s incomplete though.
Even 06 looks suspect….
lindismithParticipantyeah, find out exactly what is the crux of the matter. In my experience, we women never say exactly what we think. Apparently you men have to intuitively ‘know’ what’s wrong.
I’d keep asking her questions to get to the heart of the matter.
There is something very telling in your line, “she seems to resent that I did something right and have a new, and better, attitude on life.” Are you saying because you sold the house, and were sucessful, she now resents you?
Are you absolutely sure of this, or are you just guessing?
lindismithParticipantwow, that link shows some nice houses! You sure get a lot more for your money!
I don’t mean to be negative about Texas. I just think California has a lot more to offer. (That’s if you can afford it.) I guess it all comes down to priorities.
lindismithParticipantI disagree. I think tech employees are usually some of the brightest in our society, and it becomes really hard to attract elite minds to places like Frisco, Texas.
lindismithParticipantsdrealtor, can you run the years between ’98 and ’03?
thanks!
lindismithParticipantyes – I forgot where they were exactly. I had 2 friends work there in the past. Both commuted from OC. I guess that’s why I remembered it wrong.
A related comment: when the dotcom boom was going strong, I remember driving on the 405 thru Irvine (OC), and seeing a lot of .com names on buildings. When that went bust, it seemed like a lot of the signage on the buildings changed to mortgage/loan companies. Just wondering if those companies are all still going strong?
lindismithParticipantok, bun’s un-done, glasses are off, I’m drinking a Dewar’s but this thread is still lame!
🙂
lindismithParticipantHonestly, I cannot not think of one good reason why this is appropriate.
We are all here to learn.
lindismithParticipantThanks for this sdrealtor.
I wonder if starter homes will take it even harder since they would have been purchased (presumably) by the sub-prime borrower?
lindismithParticipant14-building complex on 40 acres
Wow! That’s a lot of business out of OC.
A lot of people opted to move. It will interesting to see what OC’s population is this year. I’m sure it’ll still increase ‘as everyone wants to live there also,’ but Nissan was a BIG employer.
I wonder if that land is ear-marked for anything?
