Participant7-11 clerks aren’t paying back the million dollar loans they took out to speculate on properties in Miami/Las Vegas/Wisconsin/(insert anyplace in North America here) with?
LMAO!!
If the shares go down any further (which they will, only a matter of time) then perhaps they will wind up like New Century 😛 The huge mortgage mess unravelling is AHEAD of us, we haven’t even seen the bulk of the problems yet…imagine that!!!

ParticipantNot sure if they will go out of business but they may have to declare Chap. 13 BK (viz Delta and other companies). The downturn is just getting started and already they are having serious problems, what is going to happen when all the ARMs reset in massive numbers and defaults/foreclosures go through the roof?

ParticipantI have mine in diversified INTL but they are also getting hammered because the foreign stock indices (Nikkei and Hang Seng) have also gone down . Remember that a lot of foreign investors own these real estate securities. Not good.

Participantit’s quite a possibility that Countrywide will go the BK route. This shakeout has a loooonnnnng way to go with the ARM resets barely begining. When all the REOs pile up and the liquidity situation exacerbates we will get a better idea but IMO things are going to get much much worse from this point onwards and if CFC’s shares are already plumetting then the future looks pretty bleak!
