I hate break this to you, but it is not 2006 anymore.
The points you made have been refuted and debated already for the past two years.Unless the Fed monetizes the mortgages, homedebtors are ultimately screwed. The only question is how many of us do they drag down with them.

“I am curious about residential. Shouldn’t we be seeing several hundred permits filed per month to cover re-construction of houses burned in the October fires?”
Anyone else wondering if there are not appraisal value issues surrounding the homes destroyed by the Fire? In other words their value is not what it once was at either purchase point or at the time of the fire since the market has deteriorated so quickly.
Bugs?? Thoughts?

No, too nuanced for J6Pck. More like a message to the banks and WS that they might have to write down the loan values and take some of the crap back onto their Balance Sheets.
