ParticipantWow,
This Riesling house was built in 1978 and he paid $618K for it?
A 2100+ house in Sorrento Valley was sold last month for $625K. This Sorrento Valley house was built in 1998 and the neighborhood is a lot nicer. I think better schools too.
Wow maybe this realtor really believes in the NAR’s propaganda.
Hey, flip it to me for $500K and I will think about it.
Wait, I might be able to buy a $500K house in Sorrento Valley in 2009.

ParticipantI think it is for the better that we have to cut our consumption. The American consumerism is way out of control. I think as a nation we probably could cut 20-30% of our spending and our quality of life probably won’t be greatly affected.
For example, my sister just bought her latest LV bag for $1500. It is one of 7 bags (Mostly LV and Chanel) she bought in the last 5 years. She has 5 big boxes of clothes in the garage. She is also thinking about trading in her 2004 Lexus for a bigger and newer one.
If there is a depression coming, I don’t worry too much about it. It is way over due.

ParticipantFor someone like me who was young and didn’t pay much attention to the housing bubble in the 80’s, this really helps to put things in perspective that a housing bubble takes a long time to burst.
I was thinking about buying in late 2008 but this might push me back to 2009 or even 2010.

ParticipantCould you buy this property, split the lot into three 7000 sq ft lot and build three $1M houses? Is there any law against this?
