ParticipantIt would have been a lot cheaper to build a new car company from the ground up. Pay assemblers $20/hr wage + $7/hr in benefits rather than the current uaw $60/hr in wages and benefits.
$50,000,000,000 to subsidize 100,000 uaw workers = $500,000 each.

ParticipantI thought it is a better buy than the houses in MM I listed above. I have lived near the freeway before. Double pane windows help a lot.
I think it is a good buy for the current market but I am still waiting and hoping for some additional price reduction. A similar home for $350K should be ideal just in case one of us get laid off we can still handle the payment. 1400 sq ft (single story) is about right for four people (although I have no children yet). I hate cleaning, so I prefer smaller homes.

ParticipantDataAgent,
My friends/family loved the weather and the relaxed atmosphere of San Diego. They commented that OC is a lot more crowded and you can’t even find parking on the weekend.
I plan to try La Jolla caves next. Kayaking there would probably be more challenging with the waves.
Actually I have ordered a permanent Yakima roof rack online last night and will try to install it this weekend. Then I will try to find a used Kayak on craiglist.Do you Kayak?
