I think that universal health insurance is good. Everybody should have it.
This should be a first step in getting health-care under control.
Rationing is necessary. Everyone should have basic government guaranteed health coverage. The private sector should pickup the cost beyond basic.
Over time, health care spending should be cut back to take up a much lower portion of GDP.[/quote]
Brian,
I hope you enjoy the rationing when it is one of your loved ones who is waiting 10 months for a hip surgery. It sounds very egalitarian until it’s your interests on the line.

Can we not call this behavior unethical? Should voters not hold their elected representatives to a higher standard? Where is the news media? Where is the opposition party?
Regardless of the fact that they are elected, they are still accountable to the electorate. If the electorate is not aware of what they are voting on then we have ineffectively delegated out powers to our officials.
Just my 2 cents, or maybe less by the time I finish typing this post as our government has taken on another federal program without explaining how it will be funded.

Jim JonesParticipantMy opinion,
If you don’t like Walmart you might want to oppose the next opening of an Apple Store near you, then throw your iPhone in the bay.
USE YOUR BRAIN IT ALL COMES FROM LABOR IN CHINA WHICH COSTS A MERE FRACTION OF A US WORKER REGARDLESS OF THE RETAILER.
