ParticipantHow many expresso’s this morning scaredy? 🙂 you are on a roll!

ParticipantA little early for you now and this is a ‘would do’ for your kid.
In our neighborhood everyone kept model home clean homes and yards. And none of the men did any home repairs or had tools around the house.
Our home was the ‘go to’ fun house. I very much encouraged hands on building and playing. I always kept hammers, tons of nails, and wood of all sizes. You can’t imagion how much fun they had just pounding nails. Noisey!! I would help them cutting wood to their dimensions. They had a ball building all sorts of stuff. Towing their creations with their bikes and using skateboards for the wheels. Boys and girls.
Get ready and hang on for the ride!

ParticipantSmoking odor: bill ’em danno’
Dog: Hard to prove, so go after them on the smoking. Paint, extra wall cleaning, etc.

ParticipantThe trolly, Coaster, north county Breeze system has been in place for years now. Still can’t go to the Fair or the Airport with them. And I don’t see condos springing up around these existing stations.
These urban planners live in a different reality. They spend time envisioning high density housing and mass transit yet neglect the basic infrastructure like water supply and wider freeways.
They seem to skip the question of what they can do to attract more employers to SD. First get business, them worry about condos.

ParticipantBefore you start slinging a saw, you should determine if that wall is a sheer wall, structural support, electric, or plumbing inside, etc. What AN said +1

Participant
pepper spray and a knife, frankly seem better for reality.
consider this: an unarmed dirtbag is closing toward you rapidly. you’re armed. you could fumble to get your gun out and maybe get it out before he gets to you, maybe not. then what? you shoot an unarmed dude?
he gets to you before you get armed, of course he’s sneaky and fast, and slams your face into the car, instantly disorienting you. fight may be over.
alternatively, you quickly draw your belt pepper spray, have a shivworks clinchpick at the ready for stabbing, you spray the motherfucker, froma distance, not too much of a judgment call required, no potential murder charges witha dselfdefense claims.
knives by the belt and pepper spray and hyper alertness beat a gun in a holster on your leg. any day of the week.
+1 Great practical legal advice.
I’d rather this than every crazy, pms, loon, walking around with a gun. It takes lots of practice and training to 1. know when to pull trigger 2. how to hit intended target. Avg schmo just ain’t good enough.
Look how much ongoing training cops do.
Oh, just as an aside, this admin really is the best gun salesman of all.

ParticipantRemember it was cops with guns that limited this rampage to 10min. I don’t recall any of these type of shooting occurring in open carry states. Hmm.

ParticipantTimeout. The dude was creepy. Conflicted metrosexual. Pussy. Broken brain is it, can’t be fixed.
Don’t jump to the wrong conclusion here but when a racehourse breaks it’s leg it is understood nothing can fix it.
Mental illness runs the gamut and I’ll bet this guy was high functioning enough to even pass a 72 hour psych hold. Can’t lock someone up for being anti-social, nor take his guns. Scarlett letter perhaps?/
Actually, not much has been said yet but the bike and foot patrol cops engauged this guy pretty early into his rampage and probably prevented him from killing even more. He had 400 rounds and 3 semiauto guns.

Participant1. If employers are forced to pay higher minimum, do you think there will be raises soon? To me it is a salary cap.
2. Costco pays its cashiers $20+/hr. w/ stock options. Cashiers… beep… beep…
3. I am constantly miffed when at a drive thru and I can’t understand the order taker. This min wage stuff business is sparking a better order entry system. Carl’s already tried it with a kiosk. Fail, but when it is perfected, look out min wage, poor english speaking order takers.

Participanturban: as you know and live, the owner is the last to get paid. Circling the drain is many small businesses. Not just the mom/pop. After everyone else is paid, reserves funded, etc. the owner draw can be very tiny even while driving the slick leased car and looking very successful.
Not slamming anyone, but if the market cannot bear a pass through added cost, labor is the first to be reduced as usually the highest expense.

ParticipantDon’t be too sure their insurance is in force. Many will buy a month policy to obtain the card then let it lapse.

ParticipantI too am working out to go with micro vs string inverters. String should be a bit cheaper and has been around longer. I have noticed RF noise in some parking lots covered with solar using string inverters. I would think these things would be shielded but just something to be aware of.
Big plus to the micro is smaller connecting wires and the ability to quickly and remotely diagnose which panel has failed. Strings require you to climb up on roof to isolate each panel for testing.
Let us know what you ultimately choose.
