Participant
You know, forecasts are a lot like…never mind. Key is, as was traditionally, employment imo. Took me awhile but perusing SEH, I just realized there is virtually nothing for sale there that is not contingent already and it looks like most builders are closing out.
Speaking of SEH and unemployment – just heard that a friend and homeowner in SEH was laid off from a big local company and is thinking about moving out of state. Not sure if this falls into CNN’s projections or not.

ParticipantTo talk of Republican-this or Democrat-that is neither here nor there at this stage in the game and is counter-productive IMHO. It is neither the Republicans NOR the Democrats that got us into this mess; but rather, it is the Republicans AND the Democrats that got us into this mess. The sooner we come to that conclusion the better.
It has been said that it’s a recession when your neighbor loses his/her job/house; but it’s a depression when you lose yours. This is where we are at right now.
You talk of empty retail/office space? Just take a stroll on El Camino Real in Carlsbad from south of College Blvd as I did on Monday. You’ll see the meaning of empty office space…and this in a supposedly high-end, well-managed city.

ParticipantHere’s Ron Paul’s take on it:
Joke prize aside, I thought this was an interesting comment:
“The anti-war left doesn’t exist anymore. Code Pink now supports Obama’s position in Afghanistan.” (http://www.csmonitor.com/2009/1006/p06s10-wosc.html)
I don’t know whether to cry or laugh. I guess it comes down to the old adage that actions speak louder than words. The US President, clearly, is little more than a puppet position. Obama is no different…he’s just a better salesman than the one he replaced.
Good salesman or not, I’m still not buying it.
Sincerely,
David Lereah (Remember Me?)

Participant

the 1.2, 1.5, and 217k, aren’t part of the inventory yet. So maybe they dind’t mention what’s actually in REO yet.
Or you can get a tin foil hat and hang out with Micheal Jackson, but Santa Claus isn’t coming and neither is the Shadow Inventory.
The guys that put together the case/shiller charts have never been discredited to my knowlege, unlike the mr mortgages and peter schiffs of the world, until they screw up, their charts are legal tender in these parts.
Temeculaguy – is this the same discredited Peter Schiff that you speak of?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I0QN-FYkpw
I have long enjoyed your posts here on Piggington over the years, but I think your recent posts on this thread make you sound more like Mike Norman or Ben Stein.
