ParticipantI don’t agree with comments about rates going to come down. The simple issue here is that the spread between these loans and the risk-free treasury is way to low. Why on earth would an investor accept a 6% return on a risky investment compared to 5% for a T-bill? It just doesn’t add up and eventually people figured it out. Sorry folks but outside of the conforming loans that are bought by FM & FM we are going to see higher rates for all other loans for quite some time.

ParticipantI could not imagine losing $200k of my wealth like that. Holy crap. And yes SD, Chula Vista is going to be one of the hardest hit by far if not THE hardest hit. It will most likely go down as one of the hardest hit in the country.
I do like that $221psf sales price….Now if only that would transfer to houses in Mission Hills/Hillcrest/etc.

ParticipantI take everything he says with a grain of salt. He does, afterall, specialize in selling foreign stocks to American investors…
Always understand how the person writing the story stands to gain if you follow their advice. I don’t deny he does make some valid points but to assume that the foreign markets will just decouple from ours is non-sensical. If we curb spending it impacts every other economy directly.

ParticipantAlthough they are in a tough position of their own doing (largely) I can’t help but feel some sympathy. I can only imagine how tough this can be on a family unit…
Take heed from this everyone and learn that conservative financial responsibility is ALWAYS a better plan when it comes to you and your family.
