ParticipantWell, Guido and I finally decided to end the frustration and found another rental house that we actually like and plan to stay in.
We had only planned to be in our current rental for a few months while looking to buy, and never really liked it. But since the inevitable decline in home prices is being dragged out so long we thought we should just get comfortable and wait it out.
We were temped a few times to buy, but I just couldn’t stomach fighting with twenty other people over some crummy shack. And we still can’t afford the higher priced areas. It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out in light of the spring-summer uptick in prices.August 16, 2009 at 4:48 PM in reply to: Predictions on when it will become easier/cheaper to buy a house? #445941fredo4

ParticipantI opened facebook and myspace accounts to publicize my business, but found that facebook in particular was a really nice way to keep in touch with people that I like but don’t see on a regular basis. A lot of the cutesy application stuff that people send back and forth is kind of lame, but I like that I now have a chance to keep up with friends that I would never have time for otherwise.

ParticipantI know of two people who tried to get loan mods and the bank wouldn’t talk to them b/c they were still making their payments. So guess what? They both stopped making their payments.
