If you hadn’t ‘played the game’, where would your FICO be? Did ‘playing the game’ really change how you would pay off a loan in the future?
Hi ucodegen,
I aplogize for not responding to your response earlier but I just flew in from Chapel Hill where it was a 100 degrees and my brain is inflamed from all of the heat.
I did a quick scan of your responses and decided that since my FICO score IS 850, whatever I am doing must work.
take care.

Finally there is another problem. Current credit reports are not really a measure of credit-worthiness.
I respectfully disagree.
If you do not have a credit history then you are not creditworthy.
It is important to finance a large purchase, such as an automobile even though you can afford to pay cash for it. All you need to do is keep making payments on the car for about 12 months then write a check for the balance and pay it off.
When you go to finance a car, the lender does not ask you how much money that you have in the bank and they don’t care.
Financing a vehicle does wonders for your FICO score. I have not financed a vehicle for years, but the credit history of the few that I have in the past makes for a nice looking credit bureau.
Then you are creditworthy.

four wallingParticipantI was in Las Vegas reading a newspaper article about Robert Goulet’s wife bitching about the fact that “Robert is a big star and should not have to resort to four walling”.
I asked my girlfriend, who hails from Las Vegas, what a four waller is. She said generally speaking it refers to a “has been” star who has to pay to play-they rent the showroom, sell the tickets and organize all the grunt work needed to fill the seats.
I thought to myself “what a tragic-and humorous lifestyle all at the same time!”
I am not a four waller, but it is my handle.
