Participant
Thus I don’t find what they did disingenuous at all. Rather I’d say it was to be expected and realistically well thought out. We’ll never really know but my guess is it made the race closer.
Surprised they didn’t include picture of Cheney in a collage to make that point.

Participant
Someone should write a prop that we balance the state budget.
A few more:
1) Force CA Leg and Supreme court members to all be fired for cause if they dont make sure that prop is constitutional before election.
2) Ban gay topic hijacking of all threads (lipstick lesbians excepted)
3) If a prop states that a bond is not a tax increase, the group is fined one billion dollars.
4) Require 2/3 vote for bonds
5) Ban minimum funding props. (Currently every prop states that X dollars go to schools, polices, gays, etc)

Participant
People should only be allowed to vote AFTER reading both the arguments for AND against a proposition with a preface on the financial situation of our state.
Kiss our schools goodbye, but we’ll have a nice train used by no one.
Train is from SF to LA. Extension from LA to OC and Riverside is optional(extra cost). NO SD!!
The prop doesnt mandate the train, it only allows bonds to be sold, right? On the bright side, doesn’t Legislature have to approve bonds for sale?
They could just delay it until budget is balanced.
Not a lawyer, but why wouldnt the sponsors require a date for project start?November 5, 2008 at 7:03 PM in reply to: OT: It’s official – the majority of Californians are idiots. #300185equalizer
