ParticipantNAM is a top republican business group. They want stability. For them to make statement they sense deep conflict that has to be toned down.
Pence does not seem likely to win, but after this who knows?

ParticipantUcoodgen,
PR disaster for QCOM this week. Your explanation is ok (help out PR!), but sound bite is QCOM so greedy. It’s hard to defend with PR because not easily explained to average Joe’s like me and wall street.
QCOM should spend more time selling Snapdragon 625 used in moto z play. 2-3 day battery life, outside of games this is phone for half the crowd. 625 should win an Emmy, but it is buried. Help moto put a better camera sensor and it would be kicking it. I see people at airport standing next to odd closet in corner because they found an outlet to charge their iPhone. 625 solves that, sell it.
Yeah, I know APPL basically steals from suppliers and doesn’t care if they go bankrupt, so much worse than QCOM. Don’t get me started on extortion on media sites through app store. So have to own them.
Of course cake goes to ATT and Verizon, biggest ‘tax’ guys. Literally spending billions on TV commercial claiming zigabit speed, but 20 minutes to hit data cap. Instead of wasting billions, why not put up more towers, wifi spots?
Alas, most time on phone spent is on Facebook and games, so are we really proud of that?

ParticipantFlu,
What brands of camera are you using?
I was going to buy Nest Thermostat, but went with Honeywell because Nest has complaints about temperate not being accurate!
I bought Lutron Caséta Wireless switches because I trust switch from electrical company instead of a tech company. The hub was a pain to get connected but I don’t have to worry about quality of the switches. BTW, Lutron tech support is 24/7 US based. Switches are expensive, $50+, but I called on a Friday night and they diagnosed a three way switch problem was caused by my wiring mistake. Ten minutes later and working!

Participant

S&P futures up $16 on Trump’s debate sniffles and Clinton kicking his ass.
What debate were you watching?
I don’t even think the CNN crew would say Trump got his ass kicked.
Actually a lot of them did, as have commentators all up and down the channels and newspapers across the country. Along with the CNN polling. All actual polls showed Clinton won.
“Aw come on, the media is all biased, everyone knows that.” typical response you will find. Trump won all the online polls. Of course, they were hijacked by some reddit group, but we can’t talk about that.equalizer
Participantbearishgurl,
Those skewed polls really helped President Romney?
I am not trying to make a personal attack here, but I think that someone has to step up and point out that your pedantic prose is not winning any fans.
You sure do spend an inordinate amount of time writing, but you do not really present cogent arguments. Your arguments either lack foundation or suffer from confirmation bias or false-consensus effect.
Your constant berating of these coastal dwellers shows that you suffer from primus inter pares effect. Your seeming distaste for many in the non-fly over states must reflect a deep seated longing for glory days of simpler times. You can channel that healthy longing in a manner that does not disrespect others.
BTW, I have lived in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois. Not exactly fly-over states, but still not exactly coastal either, so understand that life does exist east of 5, but it is too hot!

Well, I’d say 80% of the population that aren’t the top income earners aren’t really screwed if they know how to manage their money well. Their fate has very little to do with what ‘rich’ people do, or what politicians do, especially in this country.
OK, generally agree with you except the part where your say your fate doesn’t depend on what rich people do with their money. In one very important aspect it does – with real estate. If rich buy up the whole coast, it drives up RE prices all over and forces people to overspend on rent, housing and thus they are “stupid” money managers.Of course if they don’t have in demand skills, etc they should move to nice places like Ann Arbor, Pittsburg, but that would require more than money management.
Vancouver just started 15% tax on foreign buyers and these buyers just stopped buying in Vancouver. [Funny when RE prices were moving up 20% a year, the buyers had no qualms, but now they don’t like being taxed]
Of course the tax was way too late, the bubble has been brewing for years. Now foreign buyers are headed to Toronto, but then tax may start in Toronto, so these buyers will just head to Carmel Valley and buy up everything and some people will have to commute from Barstow or Baker and then will get upset.

Participantzk,
Betting markets have Hillary at 1:3 odds, Trump at 3:1 odds. After this vote, that 3:1 seems like a good insurance policy. Drink up!

ParticipantWait, wait, don’t tell me.
Professor Jeremy Siegel at Wharton stated that “Investing in the latest hot technology stock is what Siegel calls the “growth trap”.
3. Investing in Fitbit? Venture cap guys pocketed $300M at IPO, retail investors sitting on 50-75% loss.
2. Maybe LKND, where price is back to IPO price around $100, but most retail investors got in at $130-175 and suffered 50% in last month alone. Insider sold only $30M. Not that smart.
1. Could it be IPO of GoPro at $25. No, the secondary offer at $75 that let execs cash out $600M, while retails investors are now setting pretty at $10 or 85% loss. Gotta love it.
I forget, it’s a “Random Walk Down Wall Street”, where future price movements are random. Translation – Insiders in their Bugatti’s and retails investors hitchhiking.

Participant
Bump. Here is what Senator Marco Rubio did tonight. I still think he will win the nomination and the presidency.
Nothing but soundbites from this guy, but hey that’s what wins.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie joined the chorus.“We know who the boy in the bubble is up here who never answers your questions, who’s constantly scripted and controlled because he can’t answer your questions,” Christie said. “So when Sen. Rubio gets here, when the boy in the bubble gets here, I hope you ask him some questions.”
Host: Why are you in third place in your own state of FL?
Rubio: “Hillary is bad, Bernie should run in Sweden”.
Rhodes Scholar material.Newscorp and friends have started an all out attack on Trump and are pushing Rubio spin. Tough to fight the MSM that Newscorp has become.
Trump needs to go back to
mid-August (2015) statement on his campaign website: “Mark Zuckerberg’s personal Senator, Marco Rubio, has a bill to triple H-1Bs that would decimate women and minorities.” Did Zuckerberg scare Trump into denial of his statement??equalizer
ParticipantHow to balance NOX emissions, C02 emissions, MPG, acceleration, torque, and price?
What do you want? BWW and Mercedes can afford expensive NOX filtration (urea tank) because they sell luxury cars where price point is not critical.
Maybe VW cant install same equipment without 10% increase in price or big hit to acceleration?
US/EURO test cycles are different so they design them differently to pass.
