ParticipantDon’t forget the ultimate sacrifice of trading in your hard earned corvette for a suburban, and this is along with having to do you own lawn care and (take a deep breath) eating leftovers (gasp!!!).

ParticipantI wouldn’t really call that a coast property.
I like the last picture that shows the brown lawns of the neighbors. Seems like there is some trouble in the ‘hood.
The house is nice though. Too big for my taste but I could see its appeal to a large family.
An unrelated question … what causes the brown stain around the perimeter of the building near the ground? I have seen this other places on both new and old homes.
cheers,

ParticipantThis rental for $1900 appears to be in the same building. It is a property manager so maybe the pricing is realistic.
http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/apa/609420174.html
It showed up three times, first post on March 12 (that was still available, it could be listed longer). The rental is advertised as the penthouse so it probably is not on the first floor. The $200k listing doesn’t say which floor. I don’t know which is better, top floor with the plane noise or bottom floor with the pedestrians looking through your windows. Square feet are not listed on the rental but it is a 2/2.
This might be a good check of the market for this building. There definitely wasn’t huge demand as it is has been on craigslist almost week (at the least). Lets see if gets rented at this price, I think it probably will.
Anyone know what the rent was before the conversion?

ParticipantI forget where I saw it but someone was suggesting using the range to come up with a low-ball offer price.
UR = upper range
LR = lower range
OP = offer priceOP = LR-2*(UR-LR)
I thought it was funny but maybe it is valid. Can we compare sold prices with original listing range price somehow?
