ParticipantThe thing that has the ‘experts’ worried (other than a repeat of the spanish flu) is that it is killing young people. We have had what, 9 people die of swine flu in the USA? We usually have something like 35000 people die each year of the normal flu, seems kinda off right?
Well the problem is that the ‘normal’ flu kills or sickens the most vunerable. The very young, very old, or the very sick. This one is killing the healthy people, the 20 year olds who very rarely die of something like the flu.

Participant
It’s all of the above – mark my words though – nothing will really come of it except possibly more fees and taxes.
Assembly members will still get their 120k salary + free car (many opt for a Lexus of course) + free gas + free insurance + 30k per diem + this + that….
If only that was the problem, and not just a symptom.
The problem isnt the few million the legeslator rewards itself with, it is the billions that are spent taking care of people and the costs of providing that service. The medical bills, the Schools, healthy children programs, the free lunch/food programs, the roads and infastructure etc etc etc. All the stuff that sounds good but we dont want to pay for.Basically there alot of people out there taking alot out of the system and putting little to nothing back in.(Most of them are either old, or very young.)Those putting into the system dont want to put anymore in, so the system is running out. We either need to put more in, or expect less from the system (You mean Octomom cant have 14 children, many of whom are special needs, and have the state pay for all their care/education/costs!) She is only an extream example of the real problem.

Participant
The again, I’m from L.A., I consider 30 minute commutes a godsend.
Is THAT what it is? Being from LA! I see. I consider my commute of ~20 minutes (5.1 miles, no freeways) alittle too long, but then again I am riding a bike. When I drive it is only 10 minutes or so and that is ok I guess.
If I could have the house I want(yes I know which one it is exactly) It would be about 3 minutes by car and maybe 10 by bike considering I would have to ride up a rather steep hill. That, in my mind, would be a godsend commute.

Participant
I’ve always wondered if Jeff Bridges emulated Sammy Hagar for this role similar to the way that Johnny Depp simulated Keith Richards for his Jack Sparrow character.
Seriously, look at that photo above.. isn’t that Sammy Hagar?
No, he played himself. I mean it is exaggerated as all good theator is, but he was just himself. I got to know the man before I saw the character, and he may not like to admit it, but he really is that cool of a person.
