Wouldn’t Mira Mesa be ideal for UCSD students who have their own cars ?[/quote]Oh, MM is full of students. One just hit my coworkers car parking yesterday.

ParticipantWell, your experience really depends on your experience. π Skiing is harder to pick up than snowboarding. However you are more likely IMO to hurt yourself snowboarding. But your skiing injuries are gonna be worse if you do get hurt. So in short, If you know how to surf/skateboard, rent a board. If you wanna learn to ski, take a lesson.
id rent from a place just off the hill if you can. There are always a dozen ski rental places just below the slopes that rent for ~20% less than on the places directly on the hill.
If you just wanna take the kids to the snow, buy a sled and find a hill.
Have fun!

ParticipantI read an article somewhere (cnn?) that said the whole problem right now is that Americans are saving too much. You heard that right, apparently the problem is that the world economy cant run when America has a 3% savings rate.
The idea was that we need to start spending more and more again, and then when “things get better, go back to saving more.” How things are gonna stay better when Americans start saving again they dont really go into, but it sure sounds good.
I think this is the kinda BS advice big government is getting.

ParticipantI know this is totally hearsay, but the GF gave notice yesterday at her apt complex, and the lady was noticably upset. Much more than would be expected. Turns out the maintaince/handman guy admitted that 15 other apartments have also given notice in the past month. 127 apts in the complex, so we are talking 10% in the last 30 or so days.
I dont know where they are all going, but that seems high. Gotta suck to loose that many renters. (this isnt a “luxery” complex BTW)
